Sounds great to me! I would also like maybe a YA thread.

Great! Thanks!
I understand, most ppl don't even mention books to me anymore!

Oh I love book suggestions! I either add them on here as a "to-read" selection or jot them down in a little notebook I carry, for library book sales. I would love to read the Discworld series, afraid it's an undertaking, so have not done it yet.
I love science fiction too, it's a genre that requires a little more thought than I have time for usually, so I am happy there seems do be good YA sci-fi lately, where it's more the story or plot than the explanations of the rocket boosters. Haha

Much like you...EVERYTHING! At one time, I probably read crime/detective series first and foremost, but now it's what I can find time to read (I am a grad student). I do read a lot of YA for that reason - they are usually quicker reads. I used to read fantasy a lot when I was younger, Piers Anthony, Michael Moorcock, Ursula le Guin, the Drangonlance books...but living in my tiny corner of the world, it was hard to decide who to read, pre-internet. It's something I need to pick back up, for sure.

So tell us what you like to read :)

Great!! I have been on GR for a while, but have just now started chatting on here. Things are a bit slow, as you can see, but hopefully they will pick back up!

What's the last book you read that you were extremely disappointed in? I finished
The Sparrow yesterday and was slightly disappointed in it; I know its a favorite of many, but I had a hard time with it. I still gave it four stars, because I loved the characters and felt somewhat vested in their lives, but the book was not an easy read for me.
I also read
Mr. Mercedeslast weekend and was extremely disappointed. I actually had to force myself to finish it, it was a good book, but it was not a typical Stephen King - no shock and awe, basically. It was more or less a mystery, and there were times I actually forgot it was a King book I was reading.
What about you? What has disappointed you lately?

Welcome! I have a book group on Facebook, but it's not set up for easy book discussion - posts get lost in the shuffle and it takes a loooong to find where someone recommended a book. Please add your Goodreads friends who might be interested and let's talk about books!
