152301 It really was. I am so glad you enjoyed it!

152301 Which book did you read?
ワンパンマン 1 Onepunch-Man 1

Did you enjoy it?
YES! XD Review/discussion here

Have you seen the tv show?
I have! The tv show is currently running, and is only up to 10 episodes.

If yes, which one do you prefer?
So far I like the tv show, if only because the comedic timing is a lot better, though there are parts they left out of the show and are in the manga. And both the manga and anime does the action scenes VERY WELL.

152301 I decided on this one, cause I watched the show and the show is hilarious, but has very good thoughtful moments, punctuated by moments that are just plain weird.
The book is the same, but I feel as though the show had better comedic timing because of it's medium. At the end was a little comic chapter not included in the anime (so far), it was cute, very funny and a bit introspective.

I don't know if I would recommend this book to anyone, if only because the humour is weird and dark at times, and it is really hard to explain the story (not really sure there is one), but I will try.

This manga is about a man who can completely anihilate villains/opponents with one punch. There is no challenge at all for him and he becomes very bored with life and the constant barrage of bad guys that show up.

I don't want to explain any more than that, but if it sounds somewhat intriguing check it out! Warning: it gets pretty violent, this series does not pull punches (pun intended :3) when it comes to the devestation that the monsters and villains cause (and even the heroes), but I felt as though the anime was more violent than this.

152301 Hmm, decided against reading this one, been having a lot of duds recently and I am so behind on the challenge.
Thanks for giving me a heads up about this one. Maybe I will read it next year :)

152301 Which book did you read?
Attack on Titan: Before the Fall, Vol. 4

Did you enjoy it?
Yes.

Did you "buy" this book in 2015 or before?
In 2015.

Is there another title waiting on your shelves since a long time?
Tons, but all in storage (i am in the middle of a move), so I can't list them all. At least a good shelf full.

152301 Finished Mort and I have to say I quite enjoyed it. Can't wait to get started on this one, but I have to finish a couple more books before I get to this one :D
152301 I decided on reading this one for this week as I have been meaning to catch up on this side series for a while. This one was the largest volume in the series so far, with more pages and much more plot progression going on and I am very grateful for that. The 4 volumes before this felt like (and were) just set up for this volume.

152301 UGH, I couldn't force myself past 50 pages. I decided to switch to another book. I don't usually give up on books, and I may still try this book for my last week of this challange.

152301 Which trilogy did you read?
The Dragon Age Series

What is the title of the 3rd book?
Asunder

Did you enjoy the book?
YES. A lot!! :D

How was the trilogy? Is there another series you're very interested in?
It is part of a much larger story and each of the books have (mostly) self-contained stories, but still have the much larger story going on throughout (connected to the games). The series (I cheated and read the first three books in a series) is very good so far, and I can't wait to read the next two! :D
I want to re-read Lord of the Rings soon, so that is the next series I am interested in :)

152301 I hadn't read this book before, but I finally got around to reading it for this challange and it was SO GOOD. It might have been because I had played the games and so I knew the characters, but I liked it MUCH better than the first two books in this series :)

152301 Same, it wasn't tooo bad (at least, not nearly as bad as some others). Helped by the fact that I felt the main girl wasn't as wishy-washy as some others, she is pretty strong in her convictions, but it is hard to know who to believe when everyone in the palace seems to have their own agenda.

I don't want to spoil this one (though I kinda saw something coming at the end), so that is all I have to say. XD

152301 Which book did you read?
Red Queen

Did you enjoy the book?
Yeah, it was pretty good. I definitly want to read the next one.

What kind of love triangle was in the book?
There was one guy who liked the main girl at the start (or at least it was hinted it), but the main focus of the love triangle was the 2 princes liking the main girl.
Without spoiling the ending, the resolution to the love triangle at the end of the book was preferable to anything else.

What do you think about love triangles in books?
In general they need to be well written for me to find them palpable. Otherwise, they are really hard to read. Unfortunately bad writing and love triangles in YA happens a lot.
Nov 08, 2015 12:15PM

152301 Somehow missed making a topic on this one. I was worried the romance was gonna be gag-inducing, but it wasn't too bad. I am glad the love triangle wasn't *too* bad (liked the ending of the book in regards to that).

152301 Which book did you read?
The Enchantment Emporium

Did you enjoy it?
Yes.

What kind of magic was in the book?
Lots of "charm" magic (in this book charms were drawn on everything), there are witches (though they never say the word), sorcerer(s), dragons, a leprechaun, some references to Fey culture and a few more obscure mythical beings. I wish they had expanded more on the world a bit more.

152301 Which book did you read?
The Book Thief

Did you enjoy the book?
Yes.

The BIG question: did you cry (or had watery eyes)?
Yes, right near the end. :(

Is there another book in the challenge which made you cry?
Not so far. I cry easily while watching movies, not as much while reading books. Maybe cause I read too fast.
Nov 08, 2015 12:08PM

152301 Okay, so I did end up tearing up (not surprising), it was right at the end when (view spoiler)
Nov 01, 2015 12:19AM

152301 It is very depressing. Well written, and the story itself is an interesting (if sad) one. I enjoyed the book and the BBC adaptation.
Oct 27, 2015 10:02AM

152301 I have not. If I have time and if I can find a copy, I will check it out :)
Oct 27, 2015 10:01AM

152301 Did they like the show? I have friends who rave about the show and mostly I can't stand the fact that there are only 1-2 characters that are reasonable.
Oct 27, 2015 10:00AM

152301 I believe she wrote the Earthsea books and I have read those. It was a while ago though :)
