152301 My goal for the week was to read the 3 books I had left for this challenge. I managed to read 4 books but only 2 of them were part of this challenge.

Full books read:
The Royal Pain 283 pages
The Royal Mess 224 pages
Guilty Pleasures 332 pages
Savage Nature 401 pages

Partially Read:
The Forgotten Garden 30% done about 22-25 pages

So all in all that would be 1262 to 1265 pages. Not to bad for a week of reading.

152301 1: Did you and your parents/guardians read bedtime stories at night? I don't remember, but I am sure it happened when I was little

2: What age did you really start to enjoy reading? I have always been a big reader so my guess would be as soon as I learned to read.

3: What is the first children's book you remember reading? We had a ton of Sesame Street books and I remember reading Busy, Busy Town by Richard Scarry

4: What is the first romance book you remember reading? This one is hard for me as I grew up reading romance books. I would say that it was probably Love Only Once by Johanna Lindsey

5: What is the first non-fiction book you remember reading? I am sure it would have been something in school but I really don't remember. So I am going to go with The Step Child: A True Story of a Broken Childhood by Donna Ford. I read this one probably 7-8 years ago.

6: What is the first comic/graphic novel you read? Oh this one is easy. I have been reading Archie Comics since I was a kid.

152301 Which trilogy did you read? The Alaskan Royal Family series by MaryJanice Davidson

What is the title of the 3rd book? The Royal Mess

Did you enjoy the book? I sure did. I was sad to see it end.

How was the trilogy? Is there another series you're very interested in? I thought it was a cute little trilogy. Each book had just the right amount of funny and cuteness for me! This is a family I would love to meet and spend some time with.
Let see there are so many of them...
I would like to finish The Undead Series by MaryJanice Davidson, The Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter series by Laurell K. Hamilton, The Portal series by Maggie Shayne and The Phryne Fisher series by Kerry Greenwood. Just to name a few.
Dec 03, 2015 09:29PM

152301 So I started and finished The Royal Mess tonight right after finishing The Royal Pain.
I was a cute, funny and good read. I couldn't believe how fast I read this book, and now I am sad that it is done.

152301 Which trilogy are you reading? Alaskan Royal Family by MaryJanice Davidson

What is the title of the 2nd book? The Royal Pain

Did you enjoy the book? So much that I read it in one day!

Which book did you prefer between the 1st and the 2nd? I liked them both just as much.

152301 I finally got around to reading this one, The Royal Pain, Second book in MaryJanice Davidson's Alaskan Royal Family series. I meant to read it right after I finished the first one in July but my library, both online and in house, didn't have it or the third one. So I ended up buying this one and the third one so I could finish the series.

I then ended up with a bunch of books I had on hold coming available so this one got pushed to the back of my pile.

Kind of sorry it took me so long to read it, I loved it just as much as the first one. The Royal family just gets better and better in each book! Very glad that I own these books. I feel like these ones will be read over and over again!

152301 1. Bookmark or a random piece of paper?Well if I can find one of my million bookmarks I will use them. If not it ends up being what ever is on hand, scrap paper, hair ties once or twice a photo. lol

2. Can you stop reading anytime you want or do you have to stop at a certain page, chapter, part, etc.?
I like to stop at the end of a chapter, or if I can't at the very least at the bottom of a page.

3. Can you read while listening to music/watching TV?
I like to listen to music on low while I read. If the tv is on I tend to tune it out or stop reading to watch the show.

4. One book at a time, or several at once?
Oh I always have 2 or 3 books on the go, sometimes more.

5. Books in a series or stand-alone books?
I tend to read a lot of series. I will read stand alone books but I seem to gravitate to series books

6. Male or female main character? Heroes or villains?
All if the above. I am not picky about this.

7. E-books or physical books?
I like them all. If I already own part of the series in book form I will tend to keep buying the physical books. I have run out of room for all my books so I buy more e-books right now.

8. Spend the day with your favorite author or spend the day with your favorite character?
This is a hard one to answer. I would want to spend the day with both!

9. Would you rather have your favorite book adapted as a movie or as a TV series?
TV series for sure if it was part of a series I liked. Those books just work better as a TV show. That way they can do the books justice and spend the right amount of time on each one!

10. Read first thing in the morning or just before bed?
Just before bed. Unless I get up earlier I don't have time to read before work.

152301 1. How many books are on your TBR shelf?
403

2. Do you use any special organization tactics to keep your TBR shelf organized?
I have a couple of different bookshelves on here I use to sort out my books.

3. How do you determine which books from your TBR pile to read next?
Mostly it depends on what books become available from the library next. Sometimes my mood chooses my next book for me.

4. What book has been on your TBR shelf the longest?
There are 11 books that I added all April 14, 2013. But the first one was Becoming Red by Jess Raven

5. What is the most recent book you added to your TBR shelf?
Burial Rites by Hannah Kent on Nov 23, 2015

6. Show us a book on your TBR shelf just because it has a beautiful cover.
What She Left Behind by Ellen Marie Wiseman

7. Are there any books on your TBR shelf that you don't think you'll ever get around to reading? There are a few that my library doesn't seem to have in either ebook form or as a paperback book. Those are the books that I couldn't seem myself needing to own, so unless the library gets them I wont be reading them.

8. Are there any yet-to-be published books on your TBR shelf that you're excited for?
The Shadow Hour by Melissa Grey, The Angels' Share by J.R. Ward, A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Maas and Morning Star by Pierce Brown

9. Are there any books on your TBR shelf that you added just because everyone else is reading it? I am sure that there are one or two on my list.

10. Are there any books on your TBR shelf that were recommended to you? I would say a few of them are for sure.

152301 Which book did you read? The Baker's Daughter by Sarah McCoy

Did you enjoy it? Yes I sure did! This book has now joined my top books for this year.

Are some elves, Santa Claus or gifts involved in the story? No elves or Santa but there were some gifts and some traditions that the main family did every Christmas.

Was it an happy story? It had its sad moments and then a few happy moments. It was a good mixture of both I would say.
Nov 23, 2015 07:42PM

152301 Such a wonderfully, descriptive well written Story. I loved this book! I just finished it today and have already recommended it to other people to read! I thought that they way the story flowed from the past to the present was done very well.

I am off to see how many of this author's other books I can fit into next year's challenge!
Nov 19, 2015 10:33AM

152301 So I had this one on my list to read for another week, but I am happy to say it fits in well for this week!

I like the idea of this story being told from two different time periods. So far I am 30% through the book and I am really enjoying it.
Nov 19, 2015 10:24AM

152301 I like the idea of a week Long read-a-thon! I am going to try and read 2-3 books that week!

152301 Which book did you read? A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas

Did you enjoy it? I really did. It was a great first read for a new to me author.

Did you have difficulties to find an author? I was surprised at how hard it was to find an author with my initials.

Will you read more from this author? I sure will! My next read will be A Court of Mist and Fury the second book out next May.
Nov 15, 2015 01:34PM

152301 Finished today! I really liked this book. I can see why this book is so popular. Such a good read! The names really got to me but as I was reading a physical copy of the book I was able to look up how to pronounce some of the harder names in the back of the book.

This book has all the elements of what made me love a good fairy tale or Disney movie when I was younger. Only its not a little kids kinda fairy tale at all.

I will definitely be recommending this book to everyone I know! I can't wait to read the second book next year.
152301 So I finished this book today. I have to say that it was an entertaining little read. Now I think I need to give the movie another shot.
Nov 11, 2015 03:36PM

152301 Which book did you read? Hector and the Search for Happiness by François Lelord, Lorenza García (Translator)

Did you enjoy it? Yes it was an entertaining read.

In which language was the book written? French

Do you often read translated books? Nope I sure don't.

152301 For this week I chose to read A Court of Thorns and Roses (A Court of Thorns and Roses, #1) by Sarah J. Maas by Sarah J. Maas. I have never read anything by this author before but the cover of this book alone made me want to read the book. Such a pretty cover and her first and last initials matched mine so that worked out well for this week.
