"Lack of attachment to characters"- I felt the same way. I'd kept hearing about a devastating:heartbreaking end to the series that after I finished, I was sure I was missing something, some twist in a sentence, something! But I didn't. I just didn't have an attachment to the characters so I couldn't be emotionally invested in the ending. I thought the series started out strong and got weaker with each sequel. Interesting concept overall though.

Oh good! Is it more creepy/mystery than scary? I've seen the movie and didn't find it that scary but heard the book was scarier. I live in CO and have been to the Stanley Hotel which the novel is based on. Definitely a creepy place

I too picked this book and am scared to start it. I plan on reading it in the daytime only. Hopefully that will help. I keep thinking of Rachel hiding it in the freezer. Haha

I finished it. It was ok. If you abandon it now, I don't think it's a big deal. I had that feeling at times as well but just pushed through because no other books in this category have really caught my interest.

This is my pick for funny book. I've seen his stand up and loved it. Hoping his humor transfers through literary forms as well!

Brittney, I just finished the book and I agree with you. The introduction went on a little long and I was anxious to start the actual story. I kept counting down until chapter 1 actually began. His side notes throughout the story didn't bother me & were reminiscent of the movie, so I actually liked seeing that but the introduction was a bit tedious.

This is my pick for the topic! 20% in and am really intrigued. I think it's going to be a great book!

Just finished it. Not usually a fan of dystopian novels but this novel is so relevant to the present it's truly terrifying. Didn't love the ending but I don't know what kind of ending would have been satisfying while staying true to the story.

It's been on my to read list for years. My pick for this week as well. Finally!

Does the book we pick have to already have a movie version already released? I was going to pick a book called paper towns but the movie won't be in theaters until Spring.

This is a great read and is one of the few book to movie adaptations that I loved almost as much as the book!
