you two are sweet . . . i enjoyed the film, but i'd be lying if i said i didn't miss the sad rage and insanity of grief . . . also, i hated to see bob and elton written out of the script, but i can understand why rob made the decisions he did . . .

. . . i have read crews, patty! . . . like a smarter bukowski from florida . . . my dad was an acrobat and a bodybuilder at muscle beach in the 50s, and crews is the only writer i know to ever talk about bodybuilders and acrobats, though his were generally depraved and physically misshapen . .. have not read the knockout artist, though . . .
. . . still works for me--just let me know who is coming, so i know how many and when to expect!

aw man, i found a place . . . with tax, deposit and everything, it's 3,500 . . . right around the same as past years . . . what is it that's holding us up . . . ? not enough bodies?

. . . i have a feeling most of us won't be able to afford to jump the pond, i know i won't . . . i just worry that the inaccessibility and low attendance might kill the dork . . . would love to come to scotland, believe me, but likely not gonna happen this year for us . . . if we decide to rally for a stateside location, we might be able to get attendance back up . . . along my book tour, i lobbied hard to all the dorks i saw (including the chicago contingent) to make it this year, so we can get the numbers back up . . .
