I will be offering these book covers free! But, there will be some limits/restrictions as to how many times you can change your mind, etc. since it takes up a lot of time.
Please message me if you're interested and I'll get back to you asap. (Spread the word too!)

This group was SO helpful during my book cover project many months ago and it was so fun talking with other people interested in books + design.
Sadly, my memory sucks and I always stay super super busy during the school year. And so... I kind of forgot about this group. >.<
That said this is definitely something I don't want to let go to waste or be lost so keep your heads up for something new soon. :)

This time I don't need you to critique anything (yet) so much as give me your opinion and knowledge on some things.
1) What race do I look like (totally no wrong answer. you can name one, several, or none)?
2) What are some racial stereotypes (for those who don't know, that means that one race is thought of as ALL one thing or ALL doing one thing) that you have heard all your life?
Can't wait to hear your thoughts.

The website says that anybody who wants to enter this competition must be over 16 and live in the UK.

Here's the link: http://bookcoverarchive.com/
Definitely going to be scrolling through these covers in my free time. :)

Great! I'll shoot you a message in soon :D

Sure that's totally cool :) Sorry, I took so long to reply.

Do you have any more work, i'd love to see it!"
I do have some more work but I haven't gotten it into digital form jpg's yet. Something else I should work on :)

What made you decide to paint them? I've only used watercolours for one of my projects, but don't dare try other mediums with paint ..."
Well, first of all, I painted them digitally which helps a little bit with minimizing mistakes as far as possible. There are some great brushes out there!
I decided to paint the goblet because I wanted it to be recognizable and very specific to the story and I couldn't find anything out there that matched what I wanted. I was just playing around with brushes and came up with the wings. :D And the green vines *sigh* they took me HOURS bc of the detail I put in them. I told my teacher I'd found the original pngs from DeviantArt (of course making sure they were open to use)and he told me to take it off and paint it myself. >.<
Because he hates DeviantArt for some reason. So..yeah lol I guess it was worth it in the end but it did take many hours.

Thanks! I really feel like it gave it the kind of old-timey/ancient feel that I wanted it to have.
Due to time constraints, I painted some of the stuff on the covers and some are digitally tweaked *grins* I painted the angel wings, the goblet, and the green vines, and some other little stuff.
I have little to no experience in any painting so it was a huuuge risky thing. >.<

So I was thinking about it... and even though Goodreads is really handy for connecting with the book community and talking about things. It's kind of ridiculously hard to post pictures of our art.
Therefore, I have made a Facebook page for us as well!
It's here: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Random...
It's wayyy easier to post pictures on FB and much easier to critique each art piece without making a hundred threads like we would have to here on Goodreads.
One thing I would suggest doing though is putting some kind of signature or watermark on any completed artwork.

I just found your group & I'm so excited haha I've just finished my first year in Graphic Design like you and really into book cover design & just books in general :)

Welcome to the group Natacha! Wow um you sound like my twin :D
Thanks so much! I'll have to get into gear and work on some projects. Is there any chance we could see some of your work?
