I am normally very sensitive to these as well. I won't read most animal centered books if I know the animal is going to die. But this one just really stuck with me after I read it in elementary school, and I still reread it every few years!

171569 I discovered the podcast kind of recently. I listened to all the episodes about books I've already read, and now I'm reading and then listening....except for a few I refuse to read. Like, I read 50 Shades, but I refuse to read the other ones.

171569 I have always preferred more psychological horror (for example Shirley Jackson) than gory, dripping in blood horror. The former actually scares me while the latter just grosses me out.
