(1)How did you feel about the revelation of Roland being used as a host for a Valg prince?
(2) What do you think the significance of gold eyes hold? Why do you think the Valg prince was so scared once he laid eyes on Manon?
(3)Do you believe what Lorcan told Aelin and Rowan? That Athril's ring and about not being sent by Maeve?
(4)We finally get to read something from Kaltain's point of view. Has your opinion of her change from the beginning of this book to now?
(5)What are your thoughts on the exchange between Dorian and Manon?
a)Do you think that there was a significance of Dorian remembering his identity while talking to Manon?
b)This has been up for a lot of discussion and a quite a few people believe it. Do you see a ship forming between Dorian and Manon?
(6)Manon and Aelin finally square off! Talk about what you thought of that scene!
Remember that you don't have to answer these questions if you don't want to! And if you have any questions that you'd like to add, you are more than welcome! Thank you :D

(1)From all the villains/antagonists that we've read so far in the series, along with the new ones here in QoS, who do you hate the most? Who do you think is the most evil/not redeemable?
(2) This isn't a question but let's just comment on how crazy smart and ingenious Aelin's plans are! Seriously!
a)How freaked out were you when Arobynn put the ring on her hand and she was following his orders?!?
b)Did you see the fake ring coming (Stefan's death)?
c)Were you surprised about Arobynn's will?
(3)To jump on the previous questions, how do you feel about Aelin keeping her plans to herself and most of the time just with Rowan?
a)I'm curious about this, how do you feel about Rowaelin's relationship and the romantic implications surrounding it?
Remember that you don't have to answer these questions if you don't want to! And if you have any questions that you'd like to add, you are more than welcome! Thank you :D

(1) How do you feel about Rowan and Celaena's relationship in this book so far? How different is it from their relationship in Heir of Fire?
(2) Chaol, at this point, has brought up many times on how they try to save Dorian from his father. How do you feel about Aelin's lack of planning Dorian's rescue and about her seemingly indifferent attitude towards it?
(3) Aelin finally visits Sam's grave. Tell me about your emotions during this time! Rowan went along with her. Do you think that she should have gone by herself?
(4) You finally get to see what the king and Duke Perrington are working on with the Yellowlegs clan. What do you think about Manon's unwillingness to do anything about it?
a) You see more of Manon and Asterin's relationship in QoS. How have you reacted to the Manon's demotion of Asterin as her second?
Remember that you don't have to answer these questions if you don't want to! And if you have any questions that you'd like to add, you are more than welcome! Thank you :D

the pace was incredible. I actually lov..."
Better late than never haha :D
Yeah I like the pace so far and ugh I can't stand Arobynn but him and that lifestyle was all she's known for like what? 10 years so I understand, too.
I think Chaol was the worst in the beginning of QoS. A lot of blame game between the two haha and it was fun reading their exchanges lol.
Revengeful Aelin is the scariest Aelin lol.
Kaltain was really interesting and can't wait until you find out more about her!
I'm with you there, I never though Lysandra was lying. I think it had a lot to do with Evangeline and Wesley. You're right, if Sam thought she was okay, she couldn't have been that bad but I didn't particularly like her in Assassin's Blade lol
Ughhhh Dorian's POV just kills me. I like that she's wants to give him the mercy of death and I don''t think it's the end for him! He will rise again!! He must!

2. I'm in love with Aedionnnnnn!
4. I think Aedion has his right to be upset but sti..."
Yeah I get you about Chaol haha. His POVs upset me sometimes ... most of the time lol. But I do like Nesryn. I want to see more of her. I'm always down for kick butt chicks who can handle themselves.
I love Aedion and Aelin's relationship and how close they are! It's like sometimes you don't feel that they've been separated for such a long long time haha
I hated that scene ugh it was so heartbreaking. I understand Aelin's reasoning for giving Rowan the blood oath but she should've been the one to tell Aedion. She could've told Rowan that she hasn't told Aedion. Rowan was being a prick too by shoving it in Aedion's face that he got the blood oath and being smug about it. Then Aelin questioning Aedion's loyalty to her just sent me over the edge. Aedion didn't deserve that.
Yeah! I was so surprised that Gavriel was his dad! I'm so excited though because I loved Gavriel, I wish that he could break free from Maeve's clutches ugh. Aelin is Demi-Fae, too or something like that because she gets Fae heritage from her mom and dad but along those lines, they weren't full Fae. Down to the bloodlines, Brannon (first king of Terrasan and Fae) married a mortal, making their line demi-Fae. All the way down to Rhoe Galathynius (Aelin's dad) and he married Evalin Ashryver (descendent of Mab). Just depends on how many Fae the Galathynius/Ashryver line ended having.

(1) How do you feel about Chaol and Nesryn's relationship? Both now as rebels and in the past as occasional lovers?
(2) How are you liking Aelin's and Aedion's relationship?
(3) How did you feel about the Rowan and Aedion showdown? Did you expect that to happen? Did you think something worse was going to happen?
(4) What did you think about Aelin and Aedion's argument about the blood oath? Did you agree with what Aelin said?
(5) Did you see Aedion's lineage coming? Was it surprising to you? How do you feel about it?
Remember that you don't have to answer these questions if you don't want to! And if you have any questions that you'd like to add, you are more than welcome! Thank you :D

What's being done to Dorian is unfair and I am outraged lol I must write a strongly worded letter to SJM and ask why she hates Dorian so much lol

1) Aelin. I’m really liking her attitude and deter..."
I love that she's full Aelin but seriously ... how chapters does it take for Aelin to get off her butt and rescue Dorian. I can't take anymore of his depressing scenes
Yeah I'm finally starting to warm up to Manon's point of view in this book! Her storyline, intertwined with Elide and Kaltain, is getting very heated. I'm glad we're seeing what the king is planning over at Morath (lol reminds me of Mordor ... any Lord of the Rings fan?)
I'm really surprised with how much I like Lysandra haha and Aedion's rescue was just perfect. I loved the plan and everything. I was like HA! In your face king! I would have loved to read that scene in his POV too haha and then Dorian popping up, kill me now lol
As for Chaol, I understand why he isn't like himself. I mean look at what he went through in CoM, HoF, and now. Seeing that happen to your best friend/soul brother is bound to harden you. I think he's just having misplaced anger issues. He wants to blame everything on Aelin because it wasn't until she came that things started to go downhill. What I think he's missing is that he, too, is at fault. He didn't choose a side early enough and gotten Dorian out before the king killed Sorscha. Internally he's dealing with a lot of regret and guilt and it's easier to blame someone than yourself. So I understand his actions, do I like it? Absolutely not, that boy better shut his face lol
Oh yeah ... like how come the mom doesn't notice what happened to Dorian?!?! Like um hello lol he's no longer your son. Even guards notice it and btw I love that REss and Brullo are working with Chaol!
And for Chaolaena/Chaelin ... good riddance. I'm glad that ship is sinking lol XD sorry

(1) How has your feelings about Chaol and Aelin's relationship changed?
a) If you shipped them before, do you still ship them? Do you think tha..."
YEAH! So much stuff has happened and it's so crazy! I can't believe everything that's already happened and we're not even halfway through the book yet haha.
So far, Aedion's rescue scene has been my favorite! How he instantly knew it was Aelin when she entered the ballroom and just how accepting they are of each other of all the depravity. It was really refreshing and when Aedion was like, "You are worth it." I was crying so hard. Aelin really needed that unfaltering acceptance from someone of her court.
I think that really, Aelin didn't have the heart to kill Dorian and I still don't think she does. She's all talk when it comes down to it. Her brain and her heart are like at a disconnect because she knows she needs to put him down (logically) but she loves Dorian too much and that scene just broke my heart and the scene when Dorian wished she killed him, ugh this is the book of feels. Like I'm dying with every Dorian point of view and he can't remember his name or anyones. And when his dad tried to make him remember Aelin's name, he fought not to *cries an ocean*
I'm really liking Lysandra! I think that Aelin needs more girlfriends haha I can't wait until Elide and Manon come to her side. If Manon sides with her haha they would make a great Alliance!
As for the Chaelin ship, I couldn't be happier LOL

I'm so glad that you're so far into QoS and love her! I've seen so many people hate on Aelin in this book!

(1) How has your feelings about Chaol and Aelin's relationship changed?
a) If you shipped them before, do you still ship them? Do you think that they can work out whatever differences they have?
b)What do you think will happen to their relationship throughout the course of Queen of Shadows? Do you think that the worst part it over or it's just beginning?
(2) Describe what you were feeling and thinking when you read the scene where Aelin saved Aedion?
(3) Aelin looked like she was about to kill
(4) What do you think about Aelin and Lysandra teaming up?
a) Do you think Lysandra can be trusted with Aelin's identity?
(5) How do you feel about Manon's point of view so far -- and the resurfacing of Elide?
Remember that you don't have to answer these questions if you don't want to! And if you have any questions that you'd like to add, you are more than welcome! Thank you :D

Hope you can get it soon :D

1)Aedion. How DARE he try to die before Aelin could rescue him. But, you know what? That's just like him. Some people are..."
Haha yess crazy intense chapters
Evil Dorian makes me hurt. Like those two words shouldn't be put together. It's like an oxymoron.
Lol I enjoyed their reunion cause it was pretty much me saying bye to to the Chaelin ship haha (sorry, not sorry -- so happy about the ring lol). They were both pretty harsh to each other and I kind of understand both sides. I think what they're missing is just complete communication. Chaol doesn't know what it was like for Aelin in Wendlyn and Aelin didn't know what it was like for Chaol in Adarlan. I also understand the whole blame game between them lol.
I want to see if we'll get more about Kaltain and I'm really interested to see more about Lysandra, too!
Yeah Manon's first POV scene was not strong at all. I grew to like her scenes in HoF and it was kind of a let down here. Hopefully, it'll get better.
YES! I wish Dorian was a priority for her haha but I guess maybe she's thinking about time frame? The king has no use for Aedion so he can kill him anytime so I guess that's why he comes first. I'm glad that Brullo and Ress are helping Chaol out with freeing Dorian.
I can't wait to keep reading it! It's so crazy haha

Chaol and Aelin's exchange was very tense. Like palpable tense lol but I think that their interaction was normal considering the circumstances. Aelin never fully forgave Chaol for what happened to Nehemia and that shows in her actions towards him. Chaol never fully accepted the Fae part of Aelin and that is also shown in his actions. Now that their focus has changed and they've both been hardened by what happened to them, it changed them and changes how they treat each other.
I'm still mad at Chaol for being so against magic, like Aelin said, he was saved before because of it. I understand that he fears the chaos because there should be a system to check that people aren't using their magic for selfish reasons but what gave the king of Adarlan the right to take it away the first place?
I feel bad for Kaltain, especially once you find out that she's got a collar on. Because I know how that collar is affecting Dorian, I do feel bad for her.
I was so surprised to see Lysandra and even more surprised that I liked her! She was an interesting twist, her and Evangeline. I'm still a bit reluctant about believing her but I think I will once we see Wesley's letter.
NO! ALL IS NOT LOST WITH DORIAN! I was mad at Aelin for saying that the only option left is to kill him but at the same time I understand. There's no other way to get rid of the darkness inside him and the collar makes the bind even more powerful than the ring .. you can't take that crap off lol. BUT Dorian isn't lost. He's still in there and fighting! *cries* can he be okay already?

(1) How do you feel about the pace so far? Did you expect her to meet up with Arobynn so early in the book? Was their meeting how you expected it to happen?
(2) What do you think about Aelin's deal with Arobynn? Do you think it was right for her to agree to it?
(3) Chaol and Aelin see each other for the first time in months. What did you think about their exchange?
a) Did you feel like they were out of character?
b) Chaol still thinks of magic as problematic and that Aelin is a monster. Do you agree with him? How did you feel when he said it out loud?
c) Chaol is reluctant on freeing magic because he thinks it will cause chaos and the Aelin would take revenge upon the innocents in Adarlan. Do you agree?
(4) We see Kaltain and see what has been done to her these past months. She now bears a collar like Dorian. Do you think there's a Valg prince inside her? Do you sympathize with her?
(5) Do you believe Lysandra's claims? Do you think she was being honest about her warning about Arobynn or it was all a ploy conceived by Arobynn himself?
a) Has you perception of Lysandra change from The Assassin's Blade to now?
(6) Aelin tells Chaol that the only way to save Dorian is to kill him (fire or beheading). After reading his point of view, seeing him through Aedion's perspective, and how the collars affected Narouk in Heir of Fire, do you think all is lost with Dorian? Do you think that they only way to free them is to kill him?

Hi Amy! Thanks for joining! Due to the large amount of people in the group, we aren't doing an "actual" buddy read, where we read each chapter together. It's really hard coordinating everyone's schedules so what we did was separate topics and discussions by 10 chapters. Our buddy read is set by everyone's own pace. We put up this past Friday as an official starting date as a mere suggestion, you don't have to follow it.
Even though you don't have a copy yet, we'd still love to have you and you can join in anytime! You don't have to read it at the same time as others, that's the the beauty of it being separated by 10 chapters. :D

I'm really excited to see a showdown with Arobynn and the King. I hate the king so much lol. There's so many things I want to see happen like Aedion and Rowan meeting! I need Dorian to be okay, like more than okay. I'll cry forever if something bad happens to him lol
