they are huge, but also addictive so I have them in my ears at every minute! My goal is to be done by Sunday evening. Then shorter books!
Remember the spinner for the game? When we started talking about the theme, I could feel and hear it! At this point all our pegs fit in the car. If we add more, we'll have people laying across!

Hopefully everyone is doing chores and seeing friends and family before the reading starts tomorrow! I have a work event tomorrow morning and I will admit, I was the not nice coworker and didn't offer anyone a ride so I can listen to a book on the drive, It's a 45 minute drive-- that's almost 2 hours of progress!!!
I have 22 hours left to finish the new Cormorant Strike book so will be starting with that! Each team earns a Wild Card for every 30 hours of audio listened or 2000 pages of print book read! This darn book will get us halfway there!

It's always exciting starting a new read-a-thon. And it's lucky to be on the red team. Red cars go faster.."
Red cars also get more speeding tickets...

Also, Goodreads won't let me post all the team threads at one time... so the last 2 will need to wait a couple hours!

The 1700s is a perfect prompt IMHO-- not overly restrictive for genre but might also push me to read something I might not pick up right away. I don't read many books that take place in that century.

And while I slept through much of the suggestions, I then missed the rest because BFF sent me a text that we should go to PEI and Green Gables for my birthday next year! So booked those flight-- and if the vacation book gets through, we know what I'll be reading!
I love the Obama book list- I've read some things over the years he's recommended. Whether its him or his aides, there are normally gems in there. He does about 12 books a few times a year-- the GR lists are way too short.

Then there is Carol(l) (‘O’Connor or Burnett), Lynn (Swann or Redgrave), Pat (Swayze or Benatar), Jackie (Chan or ..."
And don't forget the historic example- Shirley

ALthough if you change it to "main" you leave out the option of reading a book with a deuteragonist is a character.

An author whose name often gets them misgendered
examples:
[author..."
Like that idea!
When my niece was 10, she said "Who knows what my sexual orientation will be, but I can guarantee you won't be able to tell from my partner's name!" Met the new boyfriend last week-- Chris

Naw, I think I'm the minority given how critically acclaimed and awarded it is. Clearly people liked it- just not me or anyone I know IRL

Re: TOPSs — I Up voted 2 of the top ones, and was neutral on "character who appears in more than one book", although I'm happy that this will 'allow..."
Just my opinion, but become a series reader. Anything to avoid Lincoln in the Bardo!

A vacation book.

I love a simply worded prompt that allows interpretation
