174573 I very much enjoy hearing about this method as it seems to be very similar to some other non-invasive treatments I have found to combat chronic pain. I have never been a big fan of the unnatural approaches modern medicine has chosen to take. The largest problem appears to be that these approaches usually only treat ONE symptom of the problem instead of the actual cause of the problem itself.

Have you read Pain Free? The Egoscue method?
There is also the Gokhale Method which I believe fits in with both of these books. I've gone through these different methods and discovered a lot of wisdom in the techniques designed to alleviate pain and bring the body back into natural motion.

Heading to check out that bookshelf you have going now. Once again, thank you for revealing this very useful information!

174573 Very fascinating. I have already begun searching the website for more answers to questions that I have about the method.
What are some of your own personal experiences with the method? How has it helped you or the people close to you?

I am always curious how the integration of any new idea affects the people involved.

174573 What a fantastic reply Andrea! I admire your well thought-out reviews and the organized format you provided them in.

The Thinking Body sounds the most interesting to me out of all of these choices b/c I find the human body/mind/spirit to be one of the most fascinating things in existence. The anatomy of our bodies paired with a consciousness that perceives the world in its own personal way, and furthermore endowed with a spiritual aspect that in a deeper way connects all of us... just mind baffling!

I checked out the book reviews, some details, and further descriptions on them and have added all these to my list of books to read. The Artist's Way sounds like a great book for when I start learning how to draw and paint. Hopefully next year once I have completed studying some other subjects.

If you don't mind me asking, what is the Feldenkrais Method?

174573 What has been the most eye-opening book you have ever read?
Which book, and why? Which people would you recommend the book to?
