177170 Definitely alive, in the book Mellisandre is not at the wall and thus could not bring Jon back. But the powers of the red god have brought men and women back to life before and i believe thats what will happen with Jon.
not only this but now that he is dead, he is relieved of his vow to the nights watch and can now take vengeance.

177170 whats there not to love about ice zombies??
177170 Sandore The Hound Clegane is a boss, you just need to give him time.
im suprised Cersei lets Tyrion get away with slapping her child, its discussed later how years ago she threatened to kill Robert for laying his hands on Joffrey. Cersei may be many things but one of her greatest qualities is her love for her children.
Tyrion notices alot of things, im not sure what he makes of the stare but im sure he notices and thinks they had something to do with what happened, if nothing else.
177170 This scene of the novel is where the first episode of the tv show ended, it was at that point i fell in love with this series and bought book 1 off the internet.
177170 Im sure George is a huge fan of foreshadowing, every action and thought in his books usually mean two things instead of one.
I believe Ghost is the animal representation of Jon, even though he is different and the runt of the litter at first (much like Jon being the social runt of the Stark children) he will grow to be the strongest member of the pack because of his royal blood and courageous spirit.
I love the relationship Jon and Arya have with each other, they are the two closest siblings in this story and show the importance of family in the times to come.
177170 I believe in the end Ned would have felt honor bound to take the position as Hand of the King. Another man could have done the job but Robert made it plain that given their history, no man would make a better Hand then the man who helped Robert gain the iron throne. As well as being childhood best friends and rebellion buddies.
177170 if Jon is the son of Rhaegar which is the theory i tend to follow, it does make him the true king of Westeros, as his father was next in line for the throne after the mad king.
as for the powers of the north, i believe it is more than coincidence that the number of direwolf pups found is the same number of stark children and one smaller outcast to represent jon who is half stark.
the direwolves have larger parts to play as the story progresses and by carefully reading the actions of the direwolves you can see a bit of each stark childs personality in them.
177170 Its the beginning of one of the biggest mysteries of the entire series and probably the very basis of the name A SONG OF ICE AND FIRE
there is very little after this to do with Ned's promise to Lyanna so now is the time dear friends to ask your questions.
