178660 Woohoo! You go, guys! Why stop at 100? :)

178660 Congrats to everyone who participated in the Read 100 Books in 2016 challenge. Whether you made 100 books or didn't (like me, who only reached 80), you had a better year for all that reading, right? :D

If you did indeed cross the 100 books mark, then the fun continues. Every single person who read 100 books will receive their choice of my e-books. You are also eligible to enter a drawing to win a signed paperback from one of 18 fantastic authors I've lined up.

Here's what you need to do

Did you read 100 books and log them here on Goodreads this year?

Step 1. Tell us in the comments! Let's celebrate.

Step 2. Claim your pick of any of my e-books. Go here to choose which book you'd like, then email me with the title and your preferred format (mobi, epub, or--on some options--pdf).

Step 3. You also qualify to enter the Rafflecopter drawing found here. The drawing features books from 18 top novelists:

1. King's Folly (The Kinsman Chronicles, #1) by Jill Williamson

2. The Long Trail (The McCabes Book 1) by Brad Dennison

3. The Final Ride (Circle Bar Ranch #2) by Linda W. Yezak

4. Don't Leave Me by James Scott Bell

5. Fractured Memory by Jordyn Redwood

6. Into the Fire by Kim Vandel

7. The Lovely Reckless by Kami Garcia

8. Lycopolis by Ali Luke

9. On the Wings of a Whisper (Sonnets of the Spice Isle, #1) by Lynnette Bonner

10. Pennies from Burger Heaven (Burger Heaven Series, #1) by Marcy McKay

11. Sweetie by Kathryn Magendie

12. The Crystal Scepter by C.S. Lakin

13. The Crystal Scepter by C.S. Lakin

14. The Officer's Code by Lyn Alexander

15. Explaining Cthulhu to Grandma and Other Stories by Alex Shvartsman

16. Jupiter Winds (Jupiter Winds #1) by C.J. Darlington

17. Omission (The Darby Shaw Chronicles Book 4) by Liberty Speidel

18. Wild Montana Skies (Montana Rescue, #1) by Susan May Warren

Good luck in the drawing and I hope you have just as much fun reading in 2017!

It was an off year. :p

BTW, I've posted my favorite reads of the year here: https://www.helpingwritersbecomeautho...

Yay! I'm so glad you've enjoyed it. :)

178660 After the first of the year, I'll open a thread and have everyone who has reached 100 books report. Each winner will receive their choice of my e-books, and you can enter a drawing to win further prizes.

178660 We're almost to the end of the year! How is everyone doing on the challenge? I have to admit (with some irony) that this is going to be the first year in recent memory I don't crack 100. Whoops. But I know most of you have done amazingly!

Don't forget there will be some awesome prizes in January for those of you crack 100! There's still time for that final push.

178660 You know, it's ironic. The year I head up a "Read 100 Books in a Year" challenge is probably going to be the first year in recent history that I *don't* read 100 books. :p Life happened, and I'm only up to about 60 right now.

178660 Have you guys tried resetting the "finished on" date to this year? I think that might be the trick.

Yes, anything that is counted a single book in the Goodreads system.

178660 @Hope and Rick: As long as they show up in Goodreads system, yes.
Jun 24, 2016 04:07PM

178660 I'm behind too actually--7 books according to Goodreads. But I just bought a bunch of books, so that's giving me incentive (read: pressure) to read more steadily. :p

178660 @Lucy: Congrats! :D Now, you'll just have to wait for the rest of us a slowpokes. Prizes parties in December.
May 26, 2016 01:34PM

178660 You go, Joanne! And, no, no need to do anything at this point. We'll have our wrap-up prize party at the end of the year.
May 23, 2016 03:24PM

178660 Will you be doing much reading outside now that the weather is getting nicer?

My answer: Definitely! I always dry to take my books outside whenever I get the chance.
Audiobooks? (12 new)
May 16, 2016 03:19PM

178660 Do ever listen to audiobooks? Why or why not?

My answer: Personally, I've never gotten to where I like being read to--especially if the book is fiction. Plus, these days, I don't do much work that leaves my brain free enough to listen to something in the background. Which is to say, I hardly ever listen to audiobooks.

Yep, any book finished in 2016 counts.
May 04, 2016 03:41PM

178660 What is the most you ever paid for a book?

I think I've spent around $40 on a rare edition history book I needed for research.

Yes, that's fine! As long as Goodreads shows you finished them again in 2016.
