50x66 I believe that The Lion King is an adaptation of Hamlet. Scar and Claudius had a lot of similarities. The main characters are very similar. Scar and Claudius are alike, and Simba and Hamlet are a lot alike. There are many other characters that are alike between the two. I think the fight scene between Simba and Scar is a lot like the fight scene with Hamlet and Claudius.

The story line between the two are very similar as well. The uncle kills the king and the prince wants revenge. Even though the events that happen are not all the same they have the same idea. No matter how long it took, both Simba and Hamlet, made sure that Scar and Claudius were dead.

50x66 I agree with Brad. It was so much different saying to myself than it was in front of the whole class. No matter how much I practiced I still got nervous and stumbled a little bit. Although, I stumbled I think practicing as much as I did helped a lot.

50x66 I think I did better than what I thought I was going to do. I had all the lines memorized. When I was up in front of the class I still knew my lines it was just harder for me because I was in front of everybody. Even though I did not say it smoothly I still knew my lines.
I do not think it would be very hard for them back in that time because that is how they mainly spoke. I feel like it may be more difficult now for people to memorize it because we do not speak like that. I think that the people to perform Shakespeare's plays are pretty talented.

50x66 I think the Mel Gibson version was better. I pictured it in a dark set. I expected it to be really dramatic and dark. I pictured him being mad at himself and changing tones throughout the soliloquy and in this version he did just that. The two other versions were really lit up and I didn't expect. The Mel Gibson version had almost everything I expected when I thought of it.
