Does anyone know the title or author of the book where a girl is trying to find her brother who disappeared after her other brother died? The plot deals with an incident that took place like 10 years from the present. Her one brother brings home his girlfriend and ends up drowing in a pond behind their New England home. The other brother disappears not long after. She ends up searching for her brother and the other brother's girlfriend in New York? Sorry... I read it a long time ago and those are the only details I can remember.

Also, the author/narrator keeps repeating a verse from a poem or song about a "paper moon over a cardboard sea, but it wouldn't be make believe if you believed in me."

I read a book a few years back about a young lawyer who was kind of fed up with her life and decided to take a trip to the Mediteranean with her girlfriends while leaving her boyfrined behind in the states. At some point in the book her boyfriend comes to look for her, but they end up breaking up and she ends up having an extended stay in Europe.

Sorry, it's been a while since I've read it but I haven't been able to figure this out!
