This book really impacted me when I was younger and I cannot remember the author or title. There is a scene where the kitten the boy raises gets thrown around by neighborhood bullies. The kitten’s home is in an abandoned house, in a cabinet. The boy cares for the kitten but struggles because his family is poor.
