The hero is a teenager, probably around 15 years old. I think he moves there for family reasons. I don't think romance played an important part in the plot, it was more mostly about the new natural environment encountered by the character, and how he adapts to it. That's really all I can remember.
I also forgot to say that the book was probably published in the late 2000s.

I am looking for the name of a book that I read a few years ago.
It is a YA book set on the Pacific coast, probably near the Canadian and American border, in a rural area by the sea. If I remember correctly, the protagonist is a guy who moves to this area, and I think he lives with an Indigenous community, or he might be Indigenous himself.
I originally read the book in French, but I think the author was American. Might be wrong though...
I know these are very unprecise details, but if it sounds familiar to you please let me know. I've recently moved to the Canadian west coast, so I would love to read it again.
