190025 There were so many amazing quotes in this novel! Beverley Lee is just such a poetic author. What was your favorite quote?

My favorite quote was:

"She dreamed in grey, the colour of misery."

I personally thought that "The Surrendered" was an intriguing Dystopian novel reminiscent of "Unwind" by Neal Shusterman. What did you think about the tax on children?

I definitely understand that! This book was written for a specific audience, and unfortunately, it won't appeal to everyone. I feel like a lot of other reimagined fairytales are that way too, it's a bit of a bummer.

190025 Please post any opinions, questions or comments that you have about "Enrule" here!

I personally loved how this novel focused on a strong heroine who lived up to her full potential. This novel was brutal, and beautiful, all at the same time! What was your favorite part of this novel?

However, I deleted the different topics and only left one topic for each book to make it easier for you :)

190025 I love how Clara has risen up in the Davenport household. Books that show the working class becoming equal to the wealthy are always a favorite of mine. What are your thoughts on the family and societal dynamics in this novel as a whole?
