Hi Debbie,

Check out The Voyage of the Narwhal by Andrea Barrett. Also English Passengers by Matthew Kneale, which isant about the arctic but is a great voyage book. Both of these are novels rather than non-fiction. I don't know of any good novels about abot or Hudson, but check out God's Mercies by Douglas Hunter for a non-fiction book on Hudson.
