208213 For all of you choosing to read Assassins Apprentice. I hope you will soon commit to all sixteen books and love them as much as I love to read. <3 Never have a read such a fantasy series with such scope, world building, friendship (and romance?). <3

208213 I remember reading this book and not really enjoying it all that much. I think the biggest problem I had was everything amounted to nothing. People said, though, that it's more of a Prachett book than Gaiman, so that could be why I wasn't taken to it. (I also didn't enjoy American Gods, but I loved Anansi Boys?)

Maybe they'll make the Amazon series a bit tighter and funnier for me. Or maybe the book isn't for me, and that's good too.
208213 This book irritated me in more ways than one. Looking up my past review on the book I seemed to enjoy the idea but I really disliked the characters, including the main character (my words were 'a little shit').

I think the author self inserted his nostalgia for the 80's/or his obsession into the main character and then had the character brag about how much he knew. It's like, you know he's a whiz at 80's trivia, but the author seemed to insist you read every bit of his obsession thoughts/feelings. I got tired of it.

Now that the movie is coming out, and I think the director is a great choice... idk about Ernest doing the screenplay.
208213 I love Daphne's books. I think she was the queen of historical and the like thrillers at the time. This is one of those books where it isn't like Rebecca at all, but holy shit, I couldn't put it down.

I really recommend that everyone check out the original film adaptation - since it was really faithful to the book. I am super excited to see this since I love the cast and the locations. :)
208213 Ugh, my closet is full of books that are not being adapted until later. However, I do have The Handmaiden's Tale... and The Expanse (does this one count, even though it has been adapted?).
