I read
The Hole and was absolutely blown away. An unsettling, terrifying 5-star read for me.

I'm going with
The Hole. One of my goals is to try out more korean lit this year. I've read a couple of things and I've really loved a lot of what I've read and I think that Korean literary fiction might just be too Big Brain for me and that I need to try more genres within Korean lit.

I’m going to push through and finish My Dark Vanessa. It’s so well done and Strane is so sinister that I had to put it down but I really want to finish it.

I picked
A Man Called Ove. I hated it. I learned through this challenge that I hate reading about curmudgeons. I just can't root for them. I see why it's popular but it was not for me.
Also found the situations and relationship dynamics weird and unrealistic.

I'm going with
A Man Called Ove. I've heard so many great things about his books and have had my eye one a few.

I've been wanting to complete
The Chronicles of Narnia series so I'm going to start by rereading
The Magician's Nephew and I'm hoping I still enjoy it as much as I did when I read it before.

Finished
Pretty Girls and found it was extremely thrilling and engaging. It was shocking me at every turn. I plan on reading more of Slaughter's books in the near future.

In the mood for the thriller and mystery genres recently so I'm going with Pretty Girls by Karin Slaughter for this challenge.

But I've had "Sharp Objects" by Gillian Flynn on my shelf for awhile and I've been reliably informed that it has a tw..."I just finished Sharp Objects a week ago and I definitely recommend it for the shocking (but well done and satisfying) twist

Finished
Killing Commendatore and hated it. It was a huge disappointment because I love his other books.

Bought
Killing Commendatore back in April so I'm reading that for this challenge.

I read
Sabriel to complete my personal challenge of getting out of my comfort zone with books and while I'm glad I completed a fantasy novel, reading it confirmed for me that I don't enjoy "hero's journey" type fantasy novels.

I was going to reread
The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle but I'm trying to read new things and my library had audiobook available for
Sabriel so I'm giving that a go.

Read
Kim Jiyoung, Born 1982 and it was such a rage inducing read.

Someone commented on the ontd post that they were going to read
Kim Jiyoung, Born 1982 and I totally forgot I preordered that so I will be reading that for this month's pick.

Finished
These Ghosts Are Family yesterday evening and I did not enjoy it. About half way through I had already decided that I was going to give it to two stars but I started caring less and less about the characters and IDGAF at all by the end.

I finished
The Girl with the Louding Voice this morning and while I liked it overall, it didn't elicit a strong emotional reaction from me that it did for some other readers. I do recommend reading it if anyone is currently considering it. While I just "liked" it personally, it is very well done and worth the read.

I happened to pick
The Girl with the Louding Voice by chance for my BOTM book so I've just started that and I'm interested to see how Dare handles everything
These Ghosts Are Family is being released in March so that'll cover this challenge

I'm another
Little Fires Everywhere reader and I absolutely loved it despite going in with low expectations. Ng does an excellent job of world building to invest you in the story. I'm not excited about the series though because I don't like or trust Witherspoon.
