208566 In 2016, I found myself in a "book rut". I had hundreds of books on my Nook and Kindle - plus lots of paper ones - but none of them sounded good to read. Or worse, read books by new authors that were just so terrible, that I didn't want to continue them. First World Problems, I know...but it was really distressing! I didn't know what I was looking for, because I didn't know what I was missing.

Well I actually walked into Barnes and Noble and asked the bookseller to pick any book for me and I'd buy it. She asked me what I liked to read, and I pointed to the Fiction half of the store with my arms held wide and said "those!". She laughed, but directed me to a book that I'd have never picked up otherwise....and my book rut was over!

I want this topic to be that for you. If you find that you are wanting something different - but aren't sure where to even start....come here! We all know the joy of sharing a book with someone, so let's add that to the group this year! Myself and your fellow members can point you in the direction of something new and awesome!

208566 What are your 2017 reading goals? They don't have to be huge - just something that you personally want to accomplish. Do you want to hit a certain number? Do you want to discover a new author? Are you looking to reach outside your comfort zone?

Anyways - list it here! Then you can come back over the year to add to/update or complete your 2017 goals!

Mine is simply to allow myself time to read for fun! I am a full-time nurse at a Rehabilitation Hospital. I'm also a full-time student in a Masters degree program and a full-time wife to an amazing husband. That being said, sometimes reading-for-fun doesn't happen as often as it should. Reading is good for my sanity, so I'd like to make sure that I keep it up. It doesn't matter *what* I read - just that I *am* reading a book that isn't a textbook :-P

208566 What books are YOU looking most forward to in 2017???

My list is actually the same as last year - I'm personally looking forward to anything by Laurann Dohner, Sherrilyn Kenyon, Nalini Singh, Julie Ann Walker and Sandrine Gasq-Dion - I always love anything they write!!

208566 Happy 2017 Everyone!!!

Here's just a basic review of our current rules

~Please be polite and respectful.
~List any books you have FINISHED in 2017. This includes paper books, e-books, audio books, graphic novels, 100+ page short stories/novellas & any Children's books over 100 pages.
~You can post books that someone else has already posted.
~PLEASE no more regular chat in the "2017 Books" thread.

How Does It Work? Post the next number in your thread so we can keep track of how many books have been posted. (For exmaple I post #1 and the next person posted #2, next #3, etc.) - REMEMBER, our goal is 2017 books in 2017!!!

Also, as page jumps can happen quickly - make sure you're looking at the LAST page of postings before you number your books! This will ensure proper count for all of us :-)
