I'm in a bit of a reading slump right now. I had to put down Razor Valentine to pick up again later. I'm reading a book called Entheophage about an outbreak in kids. It's good so far.

214387 Wow, you guys are all reading some cool books. I've been in a slump but I have plans to get out of it soon.

214387 I've not picked this one up yet, but I might. I've been taking a break from nonfiction. There's still time for me to decide.

I'm currently reading Brides of Maracoor, the first in a spin-off from the Wicked Series. I also plan to read Razor Valentine as one of the quarterly selections and the monthly challenge of New Orleans. I also plan to try some new titles just for fun. We'll see what happens.

Thanks for the recommendations. Million Dollar Baby is a really hard movie to watch, but the fight is a critical part that completely changes the tone of the rest of the movie. The fight is between two women so I just wondered if it was realistic. It was brutal to see.

I also had issues with the pacing, which I mentioned in my review. Just realized I forgot to share it, so here it is: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

214387 1) I'm an animal lover, which includes horses, but not sure I have to temperament to get into horse racing. I do enjoy watching the Kentucky Derby each year. As far as breeding goes, don't think I know enough about it to even comment.

2) I picked up on a few things going on, but ultimately this mystery stumped me. It was not a humorous book in any way but I t almost felt like it had a Scooby-do ending, which people not being who you thought they were.

3) Not sure it really counts, but I'm a sucker for a classic. International Velvet is a good film to watch with the family.

214387 1) I think this book is a much-need resource. I always felt that there was a distinction between how men and women fight but never thought it was a big deal. Discovering this book makes me want to pay more attention.

2) I hope this book allows me to be able to write action that feels more authentic for all my characters.

3) I'm honestly waiting for recs from others, but I wonder what people think of the fight scene from the film Million Dollar Baby?

214387 I'm reading Another Day #1, The Brides of Maracoor by Gregory Maguire- https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/5... It's a spin-off from the Wicked series. So far so good, but it's a long book and I just got started.

Wow, you've been busy considering you were sick. Hope you are feeling better. I have a few of these on my TBR but who knows when I'll get to them?

I just finished The Invisible Library and will read more in the series. Haven't written my review yet.

214387 Started- almost finished.

I'll be curious to see if other readers were previously experienced with the world of horse racing. This is all new to me.
