Sounds like a great idea.

This sounds really exciting! Best of luck with it. :)

I'm still hoping for the espresso book machine to catch on! It's such a great idea and yet, still only the university book stores seem to be jumping on the bandwagon.
If they were in your favorite coffee shop and corner book store,
I think you're onto something. It would help ebooks and print and give readers more options. Options rock.

I've been told online readers like shorter chaps. But I average around 1K and depending on the site it works or it doesn't.
On textnovel they want shorter on jukepop longer. lol
So my suggestion would be to find your rhythm and stick to that. Let the story guide you because making everyone happy is exhausting work. ;)

There are some sites/directories where you can list your serial fiction. They do have certain guidelines though, linked table of contents, interior links to the next episode, etc. Read the guides before posting and you should be good.
I use webfiction guide, and the Tuesday Serial Collector which is an amazing resource for all serial authors. I really love them. :)
Also, your regular social media outlets can work if you tread lightly and don't spam. Same thing with groups and forums. Go in gently, listen and watch and see what the best protocol is.
Best of luck!

Good luck with the project, Michal! Unfortunately, that is a very familiar scenario. I hope it does beautifully for you in the new format.

Both of these look amazing. Thank you for sharing them with us. :D

Great points all around. I am in the fix typos camp and make major revisions when you publish as ebook/print, but then most of my serials are destined for eventually collection into an ebook. Some people only write for the web format. In that case, they might go back and change, archive original stuff maybe? Or even make a "bloopers or deleted scenes" page.
The nice thing about the webserial format is one, you can talk to your readers and see if they mind, and two, you can get really creative. I think deleted scenes could potentially be a draw if the serial was popular enough, or commentaries, notes, whatever.
It's been selling the same bloody DVD over and over and over for years now. :D

Thanks to both of you for keeping this civil and short.
All opinions are welcome here too, but just fyi I may not be a constantly present moderator, but that's because I haven't seen anything hateful enough to act on. Everyone has been fantastic, posted in mostly appropriate places and kept things on topic.
This is an example of a situation that could have flamed and didn't.
I appreciate that and everyone who posts here on the group even if sometimes, I'm very spotty on my own participation.
It's a good group.
Mostly because of all of you.
:)

Thanks so much for sharing this Larry. TuesdaySerial is an amazing tool and one that I use as often as I can (gotta get that regular posting schedule worked out) and have for a long time.
If you're not using this, it's a mistake!! :)

So exciting and it looks like you're doing awesome on Wattpad! Thanks for sharing this.

Sounds like a lot of fun!
Thanks for posting it. :)

Sounds like a good one Veronica. Thanks for sharing it.:)

You could do book series or possibly go into company/brand and choose the website subcategory. If your webserial is hosted elsewhere then the facebook page is promoting a branded website. I'm guessing you'd be more people landing on the correct target going with books or book series though.

I personally don't have a preference as a reader, though I like my webcomics to update weekly at least. SO maybe I do.
I have definitely noticed that readership drops off or never builds if you don't update frequently and regularly.
The most popular serials update a lot lot more than mine do. :)

I think the key would be to find where that age range is reading. It's possible they've found wattpad. There is a younger set on textnovel too, but they are still a little outside the 9-14 range. Might be some crossover though.
I know (this is going to sound awful) a lot of kids in that range are on youtube a lot. (watching play throughs and minecraft humor)It might be interesting to experiment with middle grade content there.
Youtube fascinates me for it's viral aspect, but I have no clue how to tap into it.

Looks like a good one, Clare! Best of luck with it.

Welcome! Best of luck with your serial. Feel free to get comfy and ask questions as you go. :)

Welcome Blossom! I hope we can help you along the way...or at least make the trip more fun.
Frances

I love this title. :)
Best of luck with it!
