I've been reading the Tiina Nunally's translation from Penguin. I have finished Parts I and II.

Well, I didn't finish in April, but I have started this.
Rebecca is a talkative little girl.

Great, I will be starting soon so I can add it to my children's classics challenge reads for an event that a blogger is hosting in April.

I had the same problem with
Middlemarch, I got about a 1/3 of the way in and moved on. Some of that tends to be I overbook myself and it a doorstopper, so unless it really grabs me it is at risk. Most of my GR friends rate the book a 4 or 5, so some clearly like it. Perhaps I'm not a "grown-up" as Virginia Woolf states this book is for. I haven't had good luck finishing her either.

I was going to add
Kristin Lavransdatter, Part 1: The Wreath but forgot. It has been high on my list for a while now. I've have a few friends that are interested in buddy reading it, but we haven't gotten around to setting a good time.

Life makes it hard to keep all the balls in the air. I can't find fault in letting thr group reads fall by the wayside. I have plenty of reading options and other groups that I divide attention to so I think we all understand.
Some suggestions for the future since I'm here right now:

My daughter loved this book when she read it about 8 years ago. I read it as well and found it to be a fun book and have since read other Nesbit books.
