I'm about 80% done with this book. Though the language is beautiful and characters well-developed, I find that I am just plain bored.

I'm around chapter 27-29 but am having a hard time sticking to it.

Pecksniff praying for the poor and the almighty to care for them as they are certainly only His concern...I am enjoying how his true character is discreetly revealed.

I'm listening to an audio version of it which does include the prologue. Since I am having a difficult time following the audio (probably because I listen to them while doing something else), I just downloaded the free Kindle version so that I can scan through that for clarification. I believe I am in the middle of Chapter 3.

I'm going to listen to it on audiobook so I will try to make sure I'm talking about the right chapters!

Thanks! I will look into the discussion for War & Peace. I am not too far in yet, so I will stick with it - because of your advice & the fact that I cannot allow a book to defeat me ;-) It does seem to be picking up as long as I can keep all these characters straight.

I am reading War & Peace but having a difficult time getting interested in it. I have read & enjoyed many classic novels (Count of Monte Cristo, Villette, Jane Eyre, & Wuthering Heights are some of my favorites). So my question is - does it get better? Is it worth the 1100 page read or is it something that people only read because it is a "classic"?
