24794 I'd partner with Madge. My partner and I haven't decided on books yet. It wouldn't be a big deal to read another book as well.

24794 I think Ella's Gran idea would work best. That way everyone would be randomly assigned a book. I'd be too tempted to look at the spoilers, especially if it was a book that I knew nothing about or didn't understand.

24794 I think it is a cool idea. I know I certainly gravitate towards familiar books, so being "forced" to read something I am not comfortable with is intriguing. Although I would be worried about receiving something that is totally over my head. But this is a really fun twist on a book club. I would love to see this happen!

24794 Reading The Rules of Attraction by Bret Easton Ellis, Cosmicomics by Italo Calvino, and just finished The Enchantress by Michael Scott. About to begin Omensetter's Luck by William Gass and The Picture of Dorian Gray.

24794 I cannot remember a time when I was not reading. I loved going to the library and picking out books. Some of my favs (though not all) were anything by Judy Blume, The Complete Little House Nine-Book Set , The Fear street series, Where the Red Fern Grows , The Swiss Family Robinson , Anne of Green Gables Series , plus many others. I was an avid reader at a young age, and still am today lol.

24794 Hi everyone! My name is Melissa and I'm from Louisiana. I'm an English lit major, minoring in Italian and History. I love reading the classics and appreciate a bookclub that is willing to tackle them without sounding pretentious. Looking forward to some enlightening discussions!!
