I haven't been on here in so long. School has severely cramped my writing (and papers for school DO NOT count). BUT, this week is finals week and I will be getting back into the swing of writing daily after finals are over. Thank goodness.

No, your stories or poetry can be anything and everything. There doesn't have to be a theme, either. I've got fantasy, mixed in with romance, mixed in with horror. The only thing they care about is that the work has "voice". Check out their website, it's sarabandebooks.org Pretty sweet deal! Of course, they only choose one book a year from poetry, and one book a year from short stories, so chances are just as slim as if I was querying a publisher, lol.

I've been writing a little each day, but haven't really been keeping track of it because I forget to check my word count before I jump into writing. I'm currently revising some older short stories and coming up with some new short stories. There's a local publishing company who runs contests for publication, and they take only poetry anthologies or short story anthologies. That's my big project for the year, on top of trying to finish revising a couple of my better novels.

I know sometimes when I set out to challenge myself to do something, it's like it has the absolute opposite effect on me, and instead I do nothing at all, lol. I'm like that with my reading challenges.

That's for sure. Either that, or my Block was so bad every word felt like five! lol

Tonight, I wrote 2833 on CSoD.

JANUARY TOTAL WORD COUNT = 22,358

So, school is officially going to put a cramp in my writing. I'm NOT counting the things I have to write for my classes as "writing" for this challenge, because this challenge is specifically for my creative writing. What I have to do for class is NOT something I actually want to do, lol

I did manage to write tonight, thanks to having finally got caught up on school work. Yay.

Short story= 444 (I swear it felt like I wrote more than that)
CSoD= 910
New short story= 100

Total wds= 1454

Didn't write for two days. I'm a bad, bad girl.

Today, had a lot going on, so didn't write much.

725 words.

It's ok, deep breaths. In. Out. You can do it! The words shall fly from your fingertips, and when it is over (and the homework is done) you will wonder why you ever worried... :D Good luck

I finished the little short story I started yesterday, adding another 588 wds.

I blogged 436 wds.

CSoD revisions/continuation= 1592 wds

Total for the day=2616

I don't feel like writing tonight. I'm a bit down on myself today, for some reason. I go thru periods of mini-depressions that make me want to lie around and ponder the little things that bother me.

I did write 446 words on listography, a little "about me" list.

ooh, look at me, coming back to edit my findings. I ended up writing. The beginnings of a short story. 735 wds. The beginnings of a possible new novel, 1320 wds.

That puts me at 14,730 for the year so far. I'm averaging a little less than one thou a day. I'd like to up that a bit.

Haven't been to the party yet! It's not until Jan 27th. I'll let you know how that terrifying bit of my life plays out.

Words tonight, CSoD revisions= 1557 wds

Been off, don't usually turn on the laptop when I'm off work. Buttttt, I won SECOND PLACE for my flash fiction story (300 wds or less) in a local paper here at home! I get to attend a dinner party and read my story out loud for the crowd. First time I've ever entered a contest. I'm so stoked.

Was lazy and did not update my word count yesterday, although I did manage to write a bit. I blogged about my NOOK!!!! YAY!!!! I don't know the original word count, because it was an email first, but my blog (just posted today) is 757 wds of gushy, loviness (yeah, I made that word up).

Also wrote a continuation to a short story 607 wds.

So, total word count for 1-12-10 = 1364 wds

Instead of writing a blog tonight, I just posted a video from my trip to Ireland, because I had to get on Blackboard for school and get to know the whole "online learning" thing.

I did do some revisions on CSoD = 1422 wds.

That puts me at approx 9308 words so far this year.

I didn't write last night because I am a loser and wanted to read. Also, there was the "unmotivated" thing, but we won't talk about that.

I did jot a synopsis to one of my novels yesterday afternoon that totaled 306 wds, so I guess that counts.
