So I set a reading challenge for myself this Holiday Season:
1) Make a Seasonal Reading List for this Holiday Season
2) Incorporate the types of books you like (horror, romance, classic)
3) Try to add in some holiday graphic novels and short stories
After doing all that, I came up with 25 books to read. Then I thought, wouldn't it be nice to hear from other people about what they're reading this holiday season?
Here's the Challenge:
Make and share your Holiday Reading List
You can keep adding to it or subtracting from it as the season dictates, but share it here. How erratic, huh?
Not sure what to pick? Here are some helper topics:
1) A book about family or a family get-togethers
2) A book about a winter themed romance
3) A book of short stories that involve the holidays or winter (ex: Holidays on Ice by David Sedaris)
4) Classics that you've never read before (ex: Hercule Poirot actually has two Christmas stories)
5) Unconventional Genre for a Christmas Story (ex: Horror, Crime)
6) Try a new twist on an old classic (ex: A Christmas Carol as The Afterlife of Holly Chase)
I look forward to see what everyone shares and hopefully we can chat about some of our favorite reads.

I am currently writing a supplmental piece for an RPG I'm part of and it takes place in 2015 and is currently involved with Star Wars, so this was perfect.
As I read, it was perfect for me... the geeky insecurity, the need for connection and feeling through geek culture, the problem with definitions and where do geeks who were geeks before modern geeks fit into the greater geekisphere. I loved it. Then add in the little friendship that formed and my heart just pitter-patted its way into being exactly what I hoped for.
More of this please......
