2782 I would get your hands on every article that GWC puts out:
Core and Love of Learning
A Thomas Jefferson Education in Our Home
Transition to Scholar
Scholar Phase
A New Collection of Essays on Education

The Charlotte Mason Homeschooling approach has also been a great supplement. I especially love the series by Karen Andreola.
And the original writings of Charlotte Mason. SOOO in alignment with TJEd.

I would have to agree that Little Britches and The Chosen embody the idea of self-education.

I find myself taking all the good from everything I can get my hands on in order to help me make this more second nature.
I personally got all the CD's from GWC and I listen to them whenever I need a little boost of motivation!

2782 Are you wanting chapter books versus picture book suggestions?
Here are some of our family fav's: (I have a 3 month, 2 year, 8 year, and two 9 year olds)

**Picture books**
The Little Engine That Could
Dr. Seuss Classics- (Horton Hears a Who, Cat in the Hat, Green Eggs and Ham etc.)
Hope for the Flowers
Richard Scarry's Cars and Trucks and Things That Go
Aesop's Fables
The Complete Tales and Poems of Winnie the Pooh

**Chapter Books**
The Great Brain (series)
Stuart Little
Little House on the Prairie (series)
Indian in the Cupboard (series)
Black Beauty
Alice in Wonderland
A Little Princess
The Borrowers
Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of Nimh
The Little Prince

These aren't anything "new", but I do think that as far as classic chapter books go they are a little easier to understand.

Hope that helps!
