My favorite part:
"Then the Christmas Custard Fairy comes. I plead, "Help us, please."

It is Christmas Eve.

She uses her magic sugar and put it on Lonez. The next day, Lonez gave me grass and ate a carrot. Now Lonez is Vegatous Lonez. "

I wonder how Lonez felt about becoming a vegetarian? Such a cute twist to the story!

My favorite part:
"Lightning flashed. Smoke appeared in the air in front of him. It billowed upward into a vertical shape then slowly filled out width wise until it became the size of an average man. Shapes appeared in the smoke and formed until the skeleton of a man could be seen. Then, slowly, clothes shaped over the skeleton and skin appeared onto his face and arms. Everything was there, the bones, clothes, skin, and nose. But the eye sockets remained just as empty as they had been before."

The imagery gave me the chills!

My favorite part:
"Suzanne woke early every morning to feed him before letting him out in the pasture with the horses. He took well to a bridle and saddle, and after school, she trained him along with her show pony Thimble. She dreamed of showing him at the county fair next summer—her 4-H friends would be jealous."

I can visualize the response of the onlookers as a reindeer enters the show ring. It made me chuckle.

36089 Like Stephanie, I think this is a little more than 500 words.

Title: All in the Family

Julian stared blankly into his mug of hot cocoa. His mind was not here at the party; he was thinking of Santana. Where was she and why did she run away from him like that? Two days ago they met at the ice rink and then headed over to school to watch the Holiday Choral Concert. During the middle of the performance, Santana jumped out of her chair and rushed out of the auditorium without any sort of explanation. There was no good-bye, no nothing. Now Santana wasn't answering her phone, and no one answered the door to her house when he knocked on the door.

Julian finally looked up from his cocoa and saw Jackson, a classmate whom worked at the ice rink his father owned part time, trying to get his attention. Julian manipulated his way across the room by weaving back and forth between the mass of people. Finally he reached Jackson. Jackson reached into his pocket and pulled out a silver necklace that had a snowflake pendant dangling from it, "Your girlfriend dropped this the other day at the ice rink. Thought she might like it back." Julian clasped the pendant in his hand, and then decided to take a better look at the only connection he had left to Santana. "Thanks, I'll be sure this get back to her." Somehow, he thought. He flipped the pendant over, and noticed an inscription.

Remember who you are

Love,
Papa

"Who are you?", thought Julian. Julian rubbed his right thumb across the inscription, and felt a jolt of energy. The letters began to glow a soft, ice blue. Julian looked up to see if anyone else had noticed. Jackson was looking at him fascinated, with an odd smirk on his face.

Julian decided to take the long route home from Xander's house, allowing him a glance of Santana's house. A week ago, the house was lit with decorations: reindeer in the front yard, blue snowflakes dangling from the gutters, and white lights that trimmed the perimeter of the two story house. Tonight, the house was dark -- no holiday lights, no interior lights. In fact, the holiday decorations had disappeared. Julian had a sick feeling in his gut, and his hunches were rarely wrong. He stopped the car on the street directly in front of Santana's house and walked over to the side entrance by the kitchen. He walked up the steps and was able to see inside the house through the glass panes. Both the kitchen and the dining room were bare. No appliances, no tables, no chairs.

Julian started walking back towards the driveway and noticed a figure coming towards him. "Jackson? What are you doing here?" "I'm here for you," Jackson replied. "Me? What do you want with me?" asked Julian. Jackson let out a sinister laugh, "You really have no clue, do you? Do you know that you were adopted?" Julian exhaled slightly, "Is this what this is about? You want to make fun of me because my parents gave me up for adoption?". "On the contrary, I am here because you are your biological father's son," retorted Jackson.

A shimmer of light appeared behind Julian. "Well, well, well. Looks like we have another guest to our little party. Santana Nicholas, you are known for your remarkable entrances." "Jackson Frost, stay away from Julian!" Jackson laughed. "Since when does the Frost family take orders from the Nicholas'? It looks like Julian has just come into his powers, making him invaluable to me." Julian, becoming very confused, asked "Powers? What powers? What are the two of you talking about? Santana, you weren't here thirty seconds ago, where did you come from?" Santana grabbed Julian's hand. "It's a long story. Right now, my priority is to get you safely away from Jackson." She orbed them to some place safe. "Where are we?" Julian asked. "We're at the North Pole. The Nicholas family has always been magical, my uncle is the most famous though." "Why am I here and why is Jackson out to get me?" "You're biological father is a member of the Nicholas family. He met your biological mother and fell in love. He never told her who he really was, and then he was killed before he even knew you existed." Julian asked, "Did you say killed?" "Yes, the Frost family has been out to destroy the Nicholas family for centuries. Jack Frost is the most notorious of the bunch. He killed your father in attempts to gain his magic and use it to destroy the rest of the family. As you can see, it didn't work," Santana spoke calmly. "Is that why you left the other day at the ice rink? He recognized who you were and you thought he'd try to kill you?" Julian asked. "I was sent here to keep a close eye on you. At the ice rink, I realized Jackson was one of the Frosts. Since you had yet to come into your powers, I thought it was safe to leave you while I consulted with the elders on what the next step should be. That's all changed now that your powers have come in."
