50x66 I used to have one of those.

50x66 I prefer paperbacks. With new books from authors I like, I borrow the hardcover from the library and then buy the paperback when it comes out 6 months or a year later. Due to the arthritis in my hands now though it's harder to hold onto hardbacks.

50x66 I do still buy paperbacks by my favourite authors. I borrow a lot of books from the library now, especially when my favourite authors come out in hardcover first. I am buying more books for my Kindle and Kobo apps on my tablet but I still prefer to read paper books.

50x66 One of my other favourite's is a young boy holding a cat over his arm that says "Have you hugged your cat today?" Of course, I can always answer yes to that question. :)

50x66 Carol, I have that bookmark, too! One of my favourite's is a little boy with a multi-scoop ice-cream cone that says, "This is where I left my ice-cream cone." :)

50x66 I keep my collection in a (clean) flowerpot on my dresser. A few years ago, I went through and culled about 1/2 of them, which came to about 200! I have different categories that I like and pick up such as ones with cats, ones with unicorns, ones with lovely pictures, ones with quotations, etc. I like to pick up bookmarks when I travel, too. They're a great souvenir - inexpensive and easy to carry!
50x66 I'm on Twitter but I protect my tweets and am usually so far behind on the people that I follow that it's hardly worth answering them! I can see using Twitter for that purpose, though.

50x66 My books are generally grouped in ways probably only making sense to me. ;) I have all my romances by my favourite (very prolific) authors on shelves in my bedroom - a full bookshelf mostly filled with books from about 10 authors - in paperback, with three rows plus stacking to each of the five shelves!

Most of my non-fiction (except Harry Potter) are in the large bookcase in the living room: self-help, some reference books, historical, humour, etc. I also have two shelves of Joss Whedon-related books and comics.

Science-fiction/fantasy books are in the hall bookcase, again three deep on the top shelf, followed by two shelves of reference and writing books, then a shelf of my English Lit books.

My cookbooks are on four shelves: three in my 'pantry' area and one in the living room. (I have cut down from close to 300 cookbooks to just over 100.)

Mystery, childhood books and miscellaneous are in another bookcase in the bedroom.

And I also have three or four boxes with books that I don't read or reread often but just can't bear to give up. I do try to give away books that I haven't read or thought of for a long time, but unlike Dave above, in spite of my good memory, I do like to reread my books and have since I was a child. I have books I've read a dozen times or more. If it weren't for that and using the library, I would have to rent a warehouse to put all the books in!! ;)

50x66 I have "The Cat Who Came For Christmas" (unsigned), which is one of the Christmas books I like to reread every year.

50x66 Going to Powell's is one of the top things on my to-do list. I was disappointed that the only time I've made it to Portland we didn't have time for it. We arrived at 3:30 pm, went to the special preview screening of "Serenity" at 10 pm, and left for the seven-hour drive home at 8 am! Next time.

50x66 I think it's a good goal, too. Do you have any criteria for the books, or is it just 100 books you want to read?

I keep track of the books I read each month. Years ago, hen I was laid off and wasn't doing outside work, I read over 400 books in a year, but now it's closer to 100. ;)
