There are many options here, but I'd say you can begin with these two. For a brief overview of the history of physics (which contains an excellent Further Reading section), take a look at
The History of Physics: A Very Short Introduction. For a book that is similar to the book you read in that it highlights important ideas and their history, take a look at
Great Ideas in Physics. These two are a good beginning.

I discovered the link to this group in this discussion thread from the Science and Inquiry group on Goodreads.
..."It is wonderful to have you join us! Welcome! Please feel free to comment on any readings or to suggest readings for the future. We have been mostly silent lately (other than to recommend readings), but that is something we hope to change about our reading group. Thank you again for joining us.

I would like to wish everyone in our group a healthy and prosperous 2021! Books are one of those things that helped us get through the challenges of 2020. The coming year in books will be exciting as we read more excellent works on science and tackle some tricky math topics. Please, continue to feel free to suggest books for our reading list.
Also, please continue to invite others to join us. It is becoming more and more critical to read and understand science.
Happy reading!

Hello everyone. I hope you are having a great year in science and math. I'd like us to make this club bigger and begin discussing our books as well as get more suggestions from members on what else to read. Invite your friends to join us and generate a discussion.

Hello everyone. Hope you are having a productive 2019. Let's enliven this group some. I would welcome reactions to what we are reading and suggestions on future reads. Also, if you know anyone who may be interested in our topics, invite them to join.

I agree with you. I read this book with great interest. Looking at the development of different concepts and procedures is really fascinating.
I was also interested in what the author outlined as avenues for future developments. That was great!

We appear to be starting slow in terms of discussions of the books the group is reading. That is ok. Keep up the reading guys. In the meantime, you can post your comments and reactions here. As soon as things pick up a bit, I will create separate discussion threads for all the books we are reading.

Tells us of anything good you are currently reading, regardless of subject.

If you want us to read a specific book, please suggest it here.
