417136 Did someone say giveaway? Okay! I'm tossing two copies of Paternus: Rise of Gods in the kitty for anyone who hasn't read it. Ebook or audiobook, winner's choice. My short in Lost Lore takes place in the past of the same world, with some of the same characters.

417136 You're the best, thank YOU.
417136 Hi Timy, very glad you liked the short story. I can't give too much away because your questions are answered in Paternus as part of the unfolding story, but, essentially, Firstborn are the children of a single entity produced when he unites with... other things. The Father (or Pater) is the first being to live on this world, and though not God in a biblical sense, he has been called that on occasion, among many other names. Thanks again, I hope this helps a little :)

Thanks Timy! Happy to answer any questions :)

Thank you Jennifer!

So if Fintan wasn't human - what was he supposed to be. Is Myrddi..."

Thanks Sandy! Fintan and Myrddin are both Firstborn (therefore actually related). And Merlyn/Merlin is indeed one of the names Myrddin later goes by :)

Hi Mike - I've been fascinated by myths as long as I can remember. I too started with Greek, then Norse, and then in about junior high I got into Native American, Hindu, East Asian of many sorts, and Celtic. King Arthur and Biblical as well, of course. Since then a whole lot of others.

I started to see a tremendous amount of similarities among them, and began reading a lot about mythology itself, and the act of mythmaking i.e. storytelling combined with philosophies of life and metaphysics. It all kind of spiraled out of control from there when I finally had the time and gumption to write a book.

Great story, told only as Dyrk can tell it."

Thank you T.L.!
417136 Timandra wrote: "Dyrk! I have a question! In your take Cessair is the granddaughter of Noah by his son Bith. Ham, Shem, and Japheth I know - but Bith?"

Hi Tim! It's from the writings of Muhammad. He speaks of Bith, but not the others, which I found very interesting. From what I've found, the celtic myths don't say who Cessair's father was, so I thought it would be more interesting to make him Bith, and say he was a disowned son of Noah.

I'm definitely unpanted, but Fintan has to be a bit more civil.

417136 Hi all! I'm Dyrk, just a Midwestern boy who spent some time in Hollywood. I teach film courses, geek out on movies and books, and write about regular folks and their trouble with monsters.
