I am new with the Nook Color, and I recently seen where it updated itself. Am I suppose to update anything on my own? Such as this 1.2?

I just purchased a Nook Color from B&N two weeks ago and I thought it was just for reading but soon found you could use the internet on it and add apps. I was thinking wow this is pretty much like a tablet but cheaper;however, I own two computers and feel that the Nook should be used for what it is purchased for. So have I used it for other things than reading...yes game apps but for regular internet use nope.

I just bought my Nook about two weeks ago, and I was curious if anyone could tell me where I would find the free book on Fridays at? I have found random free downloads but I have never seen just ones on fridays. Thanks for any advice :D
