If I receive a book for review that's already been published, or within a month of the publication date, I'll usually just post my review as close as I can to the actual date. If I get an ARC well before (which is not often for YAs but much more frequently with literature for adults) I'll usually email the publicist about when they'd like the review to go up. Most of the time the publicist will say 'asap to start to build buzz', so I just go with that.

I just read a great article about ARCs and blogging through a link from Beth Revis' blog and the kind of competitiveness around them - very thought provoking!

Hi everyone, it's my first time posting on here so I hope I haven't put this in the wrong place!

I've been contacted by A&U about hosting a read a long of Foal's Bread by Gillian Mears (here is the link to the book)

They will send out copies of the book to bloggers (6-8) and I'll run the read a long, probably over a month, and then if you could put a post with your thoughts on your blog and link to my initial post that would be brilliant. I'll also get a linky thing so readers can all get the link back to your post too.
