In the latest episode of Hush we discuss the
Goodreads Best Books of 2013 as well as some of our favorite titles from the past year. What was your favorite book of 2013?

I agree on Book Thief and Looking for Alaska. Both great books!

I've not read Persepolis, but I know that was one that was recommended by Kelli and Megan in the podcast.

In the latest
episode of Hush Megan and Kelli stop by for a lively discussion of their favorite graphic novels. My favorite recent graphic novel is
Saga, Volume 1. What's yours?

I just started the new Stephen King book
Joyland. It's a fun, quick read. I hadn't read any Stephen King books for quite some time, but I really enjoyed
11/22/63 and thought this one looked good.

I've been reading
The Name of the Windwhich I've heard is a good book if you like the Game of Thrones series. So far it hasn't disappointed.
I loved
American Gods. There's a sequel
Anansi Boys which I didn't like quite as much, but which I'd still recommend.

If you are in a book discussion group you will want to make sure that you are using the library's
Book Group in a Bag service. Deb Bryan joins up
in the latest episode of Hush to discuss this service, including new titles being added this year and some of the more popular Book Group books.

Erin Seeger and Autumn Friedli join us
in the latest episode of Hush to discuss
Crooked Letter, Crooked Letter. It's a really great book to discuss and highly recommended.

I agree with those. Also, a couple of Scorsese pictures that should have won; Goodfellas in 1990 instead of Dances with Wolves, and Raging Bull in 1980 instead of Ordinary People.
In the latest episode of Hush we discuss the Oscars. Brian Adams joins us to talk about some of the best movies to win the award and some of the worst. Do you have a favorite best picture winner or one that was robbed?

It's the end of December so that means it's time to review the best books of 2012. In
the latest episode of Hush we discuss the top books according to Goodreads as well as our own personal favorites. What was your favorite book of 2012?

I really enjoyed
Mr. Penumbra's 24-Hour Bookstore. It was a really fun adventure/mystery that has a great love of books while balancing it with an appreciation of everything that the latest technology has to offer.
The latest episode of Hush has been posted and it's one of the most interesting yet. Miranda Ericsson talks about
The Hunger Games and its major themes. She discusses books such as
Battle Royale and
The Running Man that came before
The Hunger Games, yet share many of the same themes and characteristics. Check it out!

Stephanie Hall stops by to talk about her favorite paranormal romance books
in the latest episode of Hush. What are your favorites? I don't know if it qualifies in the strictest definition of the genre, but I loved
Replay.

If you liked The Hunger Games, Divergent, or any other dystopian novel, then you need to listen to the
latest episode of Hush for a discussion of these books and many more. What's your favorite dystopian book?

As a kid one of my favorites was
The Great Brain at the Academy. I loved the series and the academy setting always intrigued me. As a teen I really liked
The Chocolate War. Depressing, but a great book.

In the
newest episode of Hush Julie Nelson stops by to talk about her favorite nonfiction and fiction books about teachers and schools. Do you have any favorites?
Rosemary wrote: "I am currently half way through "11/22/63" by Stephen King. It is amazing and well thought out. I don't know about you guys, but I've been disappointed with some of his recent work and this book ha..."I had the same reaction to this book. I used to really like Stephen King but I had stopped reading his new books because I wasn't crazy about them. However I really liked 11/22/63. I've also been disappointed with some of the endings to his previous novels, but I thought the ending of this book was extremely satisfying.
