50920 Hello! I am looking for a critique partner who loves fairytale retellings, clean romance, and adventure! This book is YA, 73,000 words, and perfect for fans of Jessica Day George or Gail Carson Levine.

I've never had a critique partner before, but I'm excited to give it a try and meet my fellow authors! :)

Hi Serena,

Thank you for reaching out!

When reading the story, I would appreciate if you would keep these questions in mind:

Can you easily picture the described locations?
Does one scene flow easily to the next?
Did any areas of the story drag?
Did you ever find yourself questioning the logic of the story?
Did any of the characters get on your nerves?
Was there a character you were particularly drawn to?

I appreciate your interest! I will send you an email with a link to the manuscript with the subject line THE SECRETS OF MERLIN.

Thank you!

50920 Hello Ethella,

If you are still looking for books to beta read, I think you might enjoy mine. It is a contemporary fantasy novel, which is geared towards ages 12-15. This is a fairly quick, clean read that is perfect for those who enjoy adventure, magic, mythology, and stories about friendship and overcoming fear.

Book pitch: Mira, lady-in-waiting to Queen Guinevere, has a secret—her older brother is the sorcerer, Merlin. She must keep this secret for her own safety, as Merlin has secrets of his own to protect—secrets that his enemies would stop at nothing to learn. When Merlin takes Mira to a cave hidden deep in the enchanted Broceliande Forest, one such enemy attacks. To protect his sister, Merlin casts a spell on her, which causes her to fall asleep inside the cave. When she awakens, she finds that over 1500 years have passed, and everything she once knew is gone—including her brother. She learns that the world has undergone great change during the years she was asleep, but there is one thing that has not changed—Merlin still has enemies, and they will stop at nothing to unravel his secrets.

This is perfect for fans of Jessica Day George's Dragon Slippers series, or Mari Mancusi's The Camelot Code.

If this interests you, let me know! And I hope we will be reading your own books before long! :)
