Beta readers and critique readers I need your help. I have to cull a 6300 word short story (nonfiction mini-memoir really), to 5000 words.
I’ve already cut 1000 words 😭😭😭 and am at a loss as to what else isn’t relevant.

DROWNED RAT TO TRIATHLETE - Is a 7000 word short story highlighting my humorous training style, or lack thereof, to compete in my first sprint triathlon.
As a fifty-something female with little experience in the sporting world, my antics were somewhat unconventional, but then again, nothing about me is conventional anyway.

I’ve just received Gabby’s feedback for my 50 800 word manuscript, and am really impressed.
Her services were quick, detailed and mindful of my writing style.
Gabby’s suggestions lifted my story, and brought the characters to life a lot more. She also helped the story flow more smoothly.
