I'm going to use this topic to announce my giveaways. Here's the first:

I'm self-published. There's a stigma within the writing/publishing community that self-published books are crap. They're not good enough for a 'real' publisher. But the comments I get from readers leads me to think they don't care how a book is published as long as it's well-written and a good story. What do you think?
Vanessa wrote: "I think you would find a way to make vanilla more interesting."Oh I have. I could tell you, but then I'd have to kill you. ;)
Vanessa wrote: "Hello Amelia, I am Vanessa, I live in London but I'm from China. I have not been on Goodreads long (a few weeks) but I have met some very friendly people here. I love your Q&A idea. Thanks for invi..."Hi Vanessa!
Thanks for joining my group. I noticed a few other authors had Q&A groups (J.A. Belfield is one) so I thought I'd give it a try. Welcome to GR!
Mireille wrote: "Hello! I'm Mireille. :) I'm finally starting to figure out this Goodreads thing. (I'm technologically challenged). I'm glad to meet you all. :)"I've been on GR for a few months and this is the first time I've really done anything with it. Thanks for joining my group!
Vanessa wrote: "1. Do you judge a book by its cover?
2. Do you get men in kilts in Colorado?
3. Is 'vanilla' good or bad?"1. Sometimes. An attractive cover will get my attention.
2. Yes. We go to a Highland Festival in Estes Park every fall. Kilts galore.
3. Depends on what you put on top of it. ;)

Thanks for the tips!
Natasha wrote: "Why did you decide to start writing romance novels?"Good question. It wasn't really a choice. I started reading romance novels when I was in junior high and I always wanted to write one. I took a creative writing class in college and fell in love with short stories, but it wasn't until I got married and started exploring my sexuality that I started writing sex stories. I wrote my first novel when one of my stories took on a life of its own.

I covered this topic on my blog a couple of weeks ago. Do you think condom use should be encouraged in fiction? I don't use them in my writing. I write fiction/fantasy, and I feel my readers know that. What's your opinion?

Hi Julie! Thanks for joining. I'm new to this so if you have any tips, let me know. Tell us about your books.

Mine should be obvious: romance. I write comtemporary romance, but I read historical. I love men in kilts. Mmmm.... If you're not a romance reader, what do you like? What's the title of your favorite book? Who is your favorite author? One of my favorite authors is Kinley MacGregor. I love her Scottish historicals (there's the men in kilts thing again). I think my favorite book is Johanna Lindsey's Hearts Aflame. It's an old school bodice-ripper. That was the first oral sex scene I read. Whew. *fans self*

Got burning questions? Go on and give it to me now. I can take it.
