527 NO NO NO!! You are all missing a critical world! Glen Cook's the Black Company - not your typical fant. no super mages or sorcerers no super hero all for the most part regular Joe Schmoos trying to survive in a fant World. in the middle of reading and trying to get the world to read it as well!!

527 ok, is there a book or series of book based on these chars if not for adults for YA?
From what I can remember the cover was greenish blue, and had a picture or a round maze on it. does this sound familiar, is it the movie again, or am i just crazy?

527 I know it's a little weird and not even sure it truly a fantasy genre but i watch some anime recently in the steampunk world and would like to read more. i surfed the web and came up with two things first is His Dark Materials and some stuff written by China Mieville. Is there anything else that anyone would recommend?

527 I have to agree with these recommendations. But i was never really hooked into the fantasy wordl until i read the original three Dragonlance books, they are slightly cheesy but a fun read with exciting characters, at least in my opinion. they are by Margret Weiss and Tracy Hickman. they are not classics but a must for any fantasy reader. What i though unique about them is the description of the mechanics behind magic. (Not to miss lead; there is not that much detail in the first three book alone but rather over the entire series, about 100 books written by various authors.) I hope you enjoy them!!
