GR Policy Change (10 new)
Sep 25, 2013 07:28AM

61281 Well, actually it still is. GR claims they have no way to send deleted content to the affected users AND anyone in accidental violation after Sept 21 will have no notification until after deletion.

I'll very against this policy, but all my arguments are in that thread. I'm much too emotionally drained to rewrite them here, so sorry about that. :(
GR Policy Change (10 new)
Sep 24, 2013 10:54PM

61281 Hey everyone!

Since GoodReads has decided that they evidently don't need to make an announcement to members about their new, 180 policy change, I thought I'd post the thread here in case anyone hasn't heard about what's going on.

http://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/1...

GR is now banning/deleting-without-warning all shelves/reviews/lists that focus on author behavior. Also, if your shelf isn't related to author behavior, but GR looks at the books on our shelves that decides the shelf is about author behavior, then that shelf will get the ax, too. Because GR can read your mind.

I'm personally frustrated with this new policy, but I'll leave everyone to determine how they feel on their own. Best of luck!

61281 Fellowship is the hardest to get through, but The Two Towers is simply perfect. I haven't gotten to Return of the King yet, but I absolutely can never get tired of this world. I love this series so, so much.

61281 I read this book a couple years ago, and I LOVED it! There's one chapter that is super boring (just talking about Dorian's various favorite rugs, paitings, furniture pieces, food, etc...) but the rest of it is magnificent! I hope you like it, both of you! (:

61281 I finished The Hobbit and So Much Closer, so two more for my challenge, just as the year closes! (:

61281 I'm actually hoping to knock out more of my dusty books over Christmas break in a last ditch effort before the end of the year (I know I'll at least get to The Hobbit before the movie comes out), so this isn't entirely accurate! I've managed to get to twelve out of twenty so far!

1) Tris & Izzie(2 stars)
2) Eragon (3 stars)
3) Choker (1 star)
4) I'd Tell You I Love You, But Then I'd Have to Kill You (5 stars)
5) The Nine Lives of Chloe King (1 star)
6) Shiver (2 stars)
7) Thirteen Reasons Why (5 stars)
8) The Fellowship of the Ring (4 stars)
9) Dear John (3 stars)
10) The Two Towers (5 stars)
11) The Giver (3 stars)
12) The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner (3 stars)

61281 April, read The Book Thief! You have to let me know how it is! (;

61281 Fatin, I'd read The Great Gatsby. It's pretty short and SO good! You'll definitely enjoy it! (:

Thanks, Liz! I'll probably read Return of the King first, since I'm already in the middle of the LotR series, but then I'll read it. (: Just get two out of the way in one month!

61281 I need to catch up with my dusty books! I only have three months to read seven more AND finish Poe. I need to stop accepting review requests. D:

Anyway, I'm reading:
An Abundance of Katherines by John Green
An Abundance of Katherines by John Green.

It's for my school's book club! After this, I'll probably move on to Unwind by Neil Shusterman, which is my church's book club book. Oh my!

61281 I updated my post to add several more books!
Jul 22, 2012 10:28AM

61281 I only had about six hours total over the readathon weekend and some 120 pages--although for Tolkien, I feel like that's pretty good, hahaha.
Jul 21, 2012 09:39AM

61281 I was babysitting some sleeping kids late last night, from about 8:30pm to 11:30pm. I read the whole time, and managed to knock down about a hundred pages of The Two Towers, which was pretty good! Unfortunately, today is still super busy, so I probably won't get much in. :(
Jul 20, 2012 09:43PM

61281 Huh, I might give it another shot then. Glad you liked it!
Jul 20, 2012 03:13PM

61281 Hey! Sorry, today was/is mega busy for me, and I don't think I'll have much time to read!

Here's the link to my giveaway!
