50x66 I think I'm most curious about the characters in short stories actually. Even though there's no real 'character' per se, I really want to know more about 'The Ones Who Walk Away from Omelas' for example, or what became of the world/society in 'I am Legend'...

Although, somehow I feel like, if I altered the frame of the story, it might cheapen it. Like a serialized character who ceases to grow, and becomes a sort of collection of traits. So, at the same time, I don't want to know more. Haha, maybe that doesn't make sense.

Kristin: I've always been a little intimidated by 'Pillars of the Earth' actually. I find that I tend to avoid, perhaps subconsciously, books with titles that sounds so impressive (I similarly avoided 'foundation', and 'war and peace' for quite some time). I'll have to check it out one of these days though.

Kate: Which 'Time Traveler's Wife' is the one you read? Goodreads lists a few of them.

50x66 I guess I had never really though of setting a certain number of books to read each year. I just kinda read whenever.

I looked through everyone's books briefly, and I have recommendations for a few of you (sorry if you've already read them, I didn't look through the entirety of everyone's list).

Drew:
You might enjoy a book called "Lord of Light" by Roger Zelazny

Kate:
"Otherland" by Tad Williams (it's a mix of Sci-fi and Fantasy)

Tracy:
I have two recommendations for you, both of which were coincidentally turned into rather mediocre movies. "I am Legend" and "Jumper".

Kristin:
You might enjoy a series of books called "The Dresden Files". It's a popcorn type of book series, but fun.

50x66 Well, people could introduce themselves here if they like. I'm the moderator, I guess? I don't really think there's much to moderate though.

As for myself, I read a lot of fantasy/sci-fi, and have been meaning to get into some noir. Although, if anyone is interested in starting a book club, I'm pretty much up for whatever.

I haven't been a redditor too long, but enjoying seeing a lot of the interesting small sub-reddits out there.

Happy reading!
