The gaming industry plays a big part in my fiction. It's a crazy business, with some incredibly rich characters. My life as a gaming industry CEO and my own career as a professional gambler have played a big role in shaping my writing.
I'm happy to answer any questions about the business, about casinos and gamblers as characters in fiction, and my own life in gambling.

Jack Sloan is my main character, a tough protagonist who's in a business rife with people who make bad decisions. Here's how one of my reviewers, Stephen Tremp, described him: "The protagonist, Jack Sloan, is reminiscent of Jack Reacher of the Lee Child series in that he’s a tough guy who’s honest and fair, seeking to do the right thing in a world where people are either predator or prey. Jack is caught in the middle of the law and lawlessness, and has to make decisions in order to protect himself and his close friends from a band of psychotic yet intelligent and organized con artists. Seeley reaches into the heart of the reader and makes them ask.... what if I were Jack Sloan, what would I do?"
I like that description. I would be happy to answer any questions about my main character or what I think makes a great protagonist.

I started writing much later in life, after a long career working in casinos . I'm ex-CEO of the world’s largest privately-owned training company, the former CEO of the gaming firm that built the first Native casino in Maritime Canada, and a former professional blackjack player. And after all that, I wrote my first novel, Gypsies, Tramps & Thieves - which has picked up a couple of awards and begun a great new chapter in my life. I'm happy to answer questions on this topic.

Welcome to the Goodreads Q & A. I look forward to answering questions about my books, about life in the casino business or my life as a professional gambler, or about starting my career as a writer in my late 60s.
