After seeing the movie almost every Christmas, I decided last year to read it. I think you will really enjoy it, if you pick "A Christmas Carol" as the December book. The movies are great, but there is a certain richness that can only be conveyed through Dickens' writing.

I began reading Joyce Carol Oates' The Gravedigger's Daughter today.

I was an English major in college, so I tend toward classic and general lit, not much for genre fiction, except for the Harry Potter series, which I loved.
