6968 After seeing the movie almost every Christmas, I decided last year to read it. I think you will really enjoy it, if you pick "A Christmas Carol" as the December book. The movies are great, but there is a certain richness that can only be conveyed through Dickens' writing.

My teenage son has been using it to "dis" people in high school.

6968 Hi. I'm Karen. I am a mom/writer/editor and just recently released my first novel as an e-book on amazon, but, don't worry, I promise not to spam you. I am, first and foremost, a lover of fiction. I was an English major in college, so I tend toward classic and general lit, not much for genre fiction, except for the Harry Potter series, which I loved. Some of my favorite authors are Joyce Carol Oates, Jane Austen and Nick Hornby.

I look forward to many interesting conversations. :)
