This is EXACTLY the kind of book that I like to read. If you are looking for something light, romantic (c'mon, there's a masquerade), and 'feel-good' this is the book for you!

69691 Wow, that sounds amazing. I'll take you up on that download. I'm afraid when I read it that I'll cry the whole time though!

69691 Lezlie, thank you for posting. You came to the right place. And your books sound interesting. I'm excited to look them up. Is your fifth book a standalone novel then?

69691 Recently, my attention was led to Amazon's Break-through novel contest (for self-published books):
http://www.amazon.com/b?node=332264011
It's happening this week. One of the nominees is 'On Little Wings' by Regina Sirois (which is really cool that I got to discover this book a week before it came out). If you love this book as much as I did, be sure to vote for it too.
Naturally, I plan on checking out the other nominees as well so I can find even more leads on great self-published books!

69691 "On Little Wings" by Regina Sirois
It's a coming of age story. Jennifer finds a tattered photo of a girl who looks exactly like her. The book unfolds her discovery in beautiful detail, romance, thoughtfulness and humor.

Basically, I think I found my new favorite book! It's definitely up there with my favorite classics. Move over "To Kill a Mockingbird." I'm not kidding. "On Little Wings" by Regina Sirois

It makes me excited to discover more books like this. I'm telling my friends!

69691 My name is Stephanie Fowers and I've published two books through Covenant Communications, "Rules of Engagement" and "Meet Your Match." Just last year, I decided to take the plunge and explore the adventurous digital world of Amazon (and other ebook stores) with "Prank Wars." It was a great experience and I'm excited to get more of my writing out there.
Right now I'm working on a YA Fantasy trilogy called 'Twisted Tales,' and I plan to release the first book on Amazon this coming year.
I never read a chick lit book before I wrote 'Rules of Engagement,' and then I became an avid chick lit reader. The same goes with indie books. Now I read tons of them, but it's hard to find the best out there with so many options. That's why I started this group. I'm hoping to connect readers to good independent books and get more chatter out there, so that we don't have to depend entirely on publishers to wade through the slush to find the good.
That's where I hope that you will come in. Every time you read a good indie book, PLEASE think of us and submit it to this board. It's nice to have a friend recommend a good book.

If you're an Indie reader, tell us about yourself and what draws you to independent books.

69691 "A Night of Blacker Darkness" by Dan Wells.
One: 4 Besides a few grammars and some research problems (which I suspect might've been intentional), the story was consistent and not confusing.
Two: 5 I laughed out loud many times, startling the passengers on the train (that I take to work in the mornings).
Three: PG It was tame. I'd recommend it to my nieces and nephews.
It is only available on audio book. http://www.amazon.com/Night-Blacker-D...
