72010 Thanks very much for this, Naomi. I hadn't seen it, but now I have. Most interesting. ...............Having been rubbish at trying to crack the first code I'm not sure about the second, which TS says is harder. But worth looking. Best wishes, Kevan

72010 Two years ago Tahir Shah wrote that he was going to Barcelona on a trip connected with Timbuctoo. Obviously, this suggests that the European head may be deposited in the Barcelona area. There is a possibility I might be able to visit Barcelona this coming fall, and do some looking.

Please would any of you be willing/able to help me look for the next head? We could combine our ideas and clues, and might get on faster. It would be nice to go to Barcelona with at least a pointer or two.

I feel like I haven't displayed sufficient alacrity in this. But better later than never, perhaps.

I'm wondering if the chapter "Mysteries in the West III" in Idries Shah's The Sufis can possibly be relevant here.

This might be a golden opportunity.

72010 If memory serves, about 18 months ago Tahir Shah wrote that he was going to Barcelona in connection with Timbuctoo. I assume this was to do with the siting of one of the golden heads. Online I've looked up obvious things in Barcelona, Spain, like seeing if there's a Timbuctoo Avenue or something to do with "Cabeza del Oro" (golden head), but nothing so far. I wondered whether anyone else has made headway on the Barcelona angle.......And as for the head buried in the US (see TS's posts spring of '14 for this), if it's buried under that construction site now, maybe ground sonar equipment will be necessary.

72010 Silly, I'd left the decimal point in the long. & lat. coordinates. But "A whole number opens the lock." So went back and removed the decimal points to make whole numbers. But not yet struck gold.....Thanks for the hint Naomi and Toni. I think I will have to look it up and try to use the maps to make triangles......

72010 I have been trying the lat. and long. coordinates of various places, like Timbuctoo, or C. Hoare & Co. bank, or 19 Hanover Square (seemingly the Fortescues' residence, from the website map), but no breakthrough yet. I went to http://www.gps-coordinates.net/ and typed in the various addresses to get the GPS/ L & L coordinates......How is anyone else doing?

72010 Matt, Tahir Shah wrote that anyone is welcome to try finding the treasure anyway they like. So why don't we collaborate and see where we get? Tahir also wrote that "It [the first hidden head]'s actually in a far more obvious place than one might think."....I'm not even thru the first gate yet. Am working from e-book and website. Do you think there's anything to some places on the 5 London maps being italicized and some not?.....I tallied up the list numbers of all the London places (the #s left of each place listing) and got 666 but that didn't work.....Obviously all math and inputs on the Timbuctoo website should be done 2-3 times in case of error.....I hope to write more shortly on what I've tried. Are you through the first gateway yet? Best wishes. Kevan

Hi Toni. I don't know if it's appropriate for me to reply in this way, so please discount accordingly if possible. I'm not sure being unable to read maps in a conventional way is entirely a drawback; maybe an 'unconventional reading' is part of what's required? Thanks and best wishes.

72010 Hello, everyone. Is anyone else looking for the hidden golden heads of Timbuctoo? I still haven't got through the first gateway yet, despite some persistence. Would it at all be appropriate for searchers to collaborate on this?

72010 Hello, everyone. I live in Winnipeg, Canada. I write -- nothing published yet, but my first play just had a staged reading by a professional company. I’ve been working on a sword-and-sorcery novel for many years. I’m a sometime childcare worker, trying to become a viable unit in the everyday world. I’m a cult survivor, have done many different jobs, run for Parliament, and worked to promote an international convention on the evaluation of new technologies before they’re commercialized (thus adding to the ‘problem of world conferences’?).

Mr. Shah, I’ve read Trail of Feathers and Caliph’s House, and am on King Solomon’s Mines; also read many Octagon and ISHK recommended books. I’ve watched a lot of your Youtube videos.

I’m impressed by your purposefulness, resilience, and sense of adventure, fun, and ‘quirkiness.’ How do you do it all?

Thank you for your journeys and for sharing them through your books. Reading them is a kind of tonic and vista-opener, showing what’s possible; but also they show the kinds of effort, sense, and endurance necessary to make the possible actually happen. Thank you.

72010 The introduction to an early edition of World Tales says that true art is 'commissioned,' not just the expression of the artist's ego. Can you comment on how you keep any inappropriate 'egoic' intrusion to a minimum while writing, choosing projects, etc.?

72010 What gets you enthusiastic about a project, or about life? What most helps you persist?
Could you comment about the following in relation to your experiences at the Caliph’s House, on the Trail of Feathers, or in general: What has most helped you to learn? What has most helped you to really wish to learn how to learn?

72010 What is your favourite part of Haggard's novel King Solomon's Mines?
