Freedom is free, it’s just not safe.
After eons of imprisonment the Girl in Glass is free and legend claims whoever marries her will be the next emperor. That means trouble.
The enemies of Tanelorn are mobilizing and a charismatic leader arises who foments revolution in the Gray City and wants to preemptively strike at its foes. The Gray Lord believes in neutrality and freedom.
He refuses to attack enemies just because they are rattling their sabers. He refuses to arrest dissidents.
Mike wants to get away from an overbearing family, Rhia wants to become a Gray Knight, and Marianna just wants to survive. Can they save Tanelorn from itself?

An odd trio of young women band together in an attempt to prevent internal forces from taking control of the Gray City even as enemy nations prepare for an invasion.
Rhia Buffalorider traveled across the entire world to be a Gray Knight and is eager to help her adopted city.
Mike is the well-to-do and stunningly beautiful daughter of a prominent family of which she wants no part. She wants to make her own name in the world and poses as a boy to make that happen.
Finally is Marianna, rescued from an abusive situation by Mike and Rhia she must overcome her fear in order to save Tanelorn.
The three girls travel the length of the nation and delve deep into the territories of the terrible nation of Grelm to watch the ascension of a new and ambitious ruler. Can they stop the forces of tyranny from usurping power in Tanelorn?
Even if they do, war is on the horizon and peril awaits at every turn.
Who is the Girl in Glass and is she finally free from her endless imprisonment? What is her role in all of this?
The Girl in Glass I - Apparition.

I think the ending is very strong which is always important. It's good to leave the readers with that sense of completion when they finish the book.
It should be released late this month or early next month. I hope everyone enjoys it.

I need to start thinking about the cover soon!
Tom

I'm going to start the rewrite today or tomorrow.
I think it's quite good. It's a little more action orientated than The Spear of the Hunt.

He is to make sure that if the Islanders find the Broken Throne that they do not keep it.
I'm about 58,000 words into it. If I can keep up the pace I'll finish the rough draft next weekend.

Against him are the people of Stav'rol ruled by their Guide who live by the code of The Fist. They believe humanity alone can bring back the Old Empire and want the Broken Throne for themselves.
It is the story of a men dedicated to freedom standing against a totalitarian state where everyone does as they are told.
My sixth novel: The Broken Throne.

Mom starts the proofread soon and the final should be out in a month or less.
I'm quite pleased. I think it's a good book and I hope everyone buys it and enjoys it.
Now, what should the next book be? The Broken Throne? The Black Sphere? Apparition (A Jon Gray novel)? Hmmm.

Being the first of my books I think it had some weak points and I'm going to try and address them. I got a good start this morning.
There was a completely superfluous character that took up way too many lines in the first four chapters. He's been cut out completely and I'm tightening up the plot a little as well.
It's something I've been meaning to do for a long time and now seems like a good time to do it.

One of the main characters, Senator Hubu changed in ways I did not anticipate so he will have to be changed in the early chapters.
Also another character, Consul Juwamba went a little crazier than I intended and changes in earlier chapters must take this into account.
The novel ended as I planned and with some good "pop".
I'm going to take a week off and then get going with the working draft. It's good to spend time away.
Tom

If I can keep up the pace for ten more days I'll be finished with the rough draft by a week from Friday. It's hard work.
I think the story is good but it's going to require a fairly significant rewrite as the characters are really developing personalities and I'm going to have go back and fix a lot of Voice issues.
I'll keep my legion of followers posted.
