(Sorry for the delay in getting to this, folks. I've been reveling in the joy of jury duty all day, leaving me even more out of the loop than usual.)

So hullo there, everyone. I have been a co-mod of this group since its inception but -- let's be honest here -- have contributed very, very little since first saying something along the lines of "Hey, wouldn't an IJ group-read be a neat idea?"

As I'm sure many of you know, both Mary and Kris have stepped down from their moderator duties; however, Kris, in an unsurprising display of her infinite capacity for fabulousness, will be a moderator again as soon as I post this. Additionally, Jason has quite graciously offered to complete our trifecta of co-mods, which is an offer I immediately took advantage of, whether he really wanted the responsibility or not. (Thanks, Kris and Jason! You guys are the bee's knees and I owe you both a drink and a toast.)

My GR activity ebbs and flows according to the needy demands of my real-life obligations (e.g., my job, which, as those of you I'm friends with know is a frequent cause for my extended absences) but I'll do my best to.... uh, do whatever it is moderators do so all the responsibility doesn't fall to one person. Is there wine involved? If there's wine, I'll be way better at this than I thought.

Anyway. Thanks for bearing with us and do carry on. I sincerely hope that those of you who have been enjoying this group will continue to do so. Those of you who have not been having a good time, please speak up and all the best efforts will be extended to you to help you better enjoy the party.

Bumping up the start date is not a problem at all. I'm down for whatever needs to be done to accommodate everyone's ambitious reading plans for the new year. I've already resigned myself to 2013 being the year of the one-book reading-challenge goal.

Actually, I'm pretty cool with passing along my mod duties to anyone who can be more helpful/active, too, as January is a wicked time for me in terms of work and I worry about being the non-contributing moderator.

Infinite Margarita? (My B&O copy arrived the other day! And I thought my senior year of college would be the last time I'd be excited about September's arrival.)

I looooove that we're getting a healthy mix of veteran readers and IJ virgins. That should be great for perspective and questions. You were right, Kris -- I'm already pretty excited about the group of folks this is attracting. I anticipate good times. :)
