@Aloha - thank you Aloha. Looking forward to your review. It's been inspiring to see your enthusiasium and love of Proust grow over these past months.

Hello goodreads-goodfolk. Proustian-lurker here. It's taken me a while to really begin connect with Proust -Swann's Way and 3/4 of Budding Grove- but know feel in sync with his writing style. I'm in for the long haul and will endeavour to contribute... Even though I have been quite enjoying wearing this Lurker's Hat.

@ReemK10 - thank you for sharing the Solomon Shereshevsky article. Intriguing stuff.

Really enjoying this book. The quotes of Rilke's writing in the context of expressing a storm's behaviour 'as the negative of a house' are captivating.

Thanks Nick - Proust books aplenty... I'm living on bread and water...

My copy has just arrived. 'A magical book... The Poetics of Space is a prism through which all worlds from literary creation to housework to aesthetics to carpentry take on enhanced -and enchanted- significances.'
Perfect.

Fantastic. It's winging-its-way to me this'un instant. As Proustitute says, it will really deepen the reading experience.

"For absolutely bloody ages it was lights out early" - Hah. Touché - I doff my cap to him.

I'm Swann'ing around lurking about reading all of these fascinating posts and observations.

@Kalliope - thank you. Fascinating to know. What's this 'Carter bio' mentioned above. *googles*

I am experiencing the same breadth of vivid and evocative descriptions. Proust's acute sensitivity to the olfactory, oracular; taste sensations and perceptions are projected back in shimmering prose -yes, diamond like.

Proust's writing is certainly obsessive in specific detail and breadth of observations. Even the ephemeral is magnified into glorious HD-fullscreen-vividness.

Fantastic, thanks Proustitute.

Happy New Thingy fellow intrepid Proustian revellers. 'twill be a bit special tearing through the full volumes together.

I just couldn't wait... Too excited... I have started reading. I've already scrawled and scribbled notes all over my copy of Swann's Way. I'm already besotted with Proust's prose.
