Anyone else questioning Mohammed’s existence at this point, or just me?

I was also wondering about Mohammed’s existence as well, since there hadn’t been any mention of him before and the fact that he refers to Nuri as uncle. I assumed they were family, and now knowing where they met I’m a bit fearful of the outcome for Mohammed.

And there is definitely so much uncertainty in regards to leaving the country. You don’t know who to trust, how long you might be stuck somewhere. You get a glimpse of Mustafa’s travels now through the emails and you have to wonder what will be in store for Nuri and Afra as their journey continues.

I was definitely confused at first about the transition between present day and the flashbacks, but now I definitely like the tie in!

I’m also surprised Afra waited so long to finally agree to leave. It makes you wonder if she really recognized the reality of the situation, despite what she’s already lost.

I really enjoyed this book! That ending is just pure torture though! I didn’t mind the repetitive nature of the end of the book though, which surprised me because I’ve read another book that’s similarly repetitive (Life After Life) which I wasn’t a huge fan of! I’m definitely going to have to read Dark Matter though as I see that one mentioned a bunch here!

I’m really hoping Barry got this right, for Helena’s sake. This book is just blowing me away!

My reaction immediately after finishing Book 3: WTF!!! Just when you think things may work out, it all goes wrong! Which should be expected at this point, but still! I’m really hoping that Helena made it out of there and that they can get this right next time! Slade just needs to go and he, as usual, seems to still be up to something!

This seriously just keeps getting more and more interesting! I was wondering when/if Barry and Helena’s timelines would cross!

Also hooked and confused! I'm intrigued to see how this goes, going into Book 2. I feel like Barry isn't just going to live his life though, but it will be interesting to see how this plays out with his daughter back in the picture!

Just finished and wow! What a great read! I definitely agree that Offred is not your typical dystopian protagonist! I’m definitely going to have to check out the show now! And I really hope The Testaments gives us more on what happened after the end of this book! The ending definitely left me wanting more!

Seriously! I find myself surprised, but also not surprised at all about what’s taking place at this hotel. You almost have to wonder about why bother creating this society if no one is even going to follow it. I’m also glad we found out what happened to Moira, but also I feel bad that Offred did find out because she had such hope that Moira at least had gotten away from all of this.

Oh I really felt bad about the cat! And while I’m glad Offred and Offlen are building more trust, I’m still wary about the whole situation! It just feels like you can’t trust anyone! I’m very curious about how people know about Offred meeting with the Commander!

It was good to finally get some more background on what happened! I could not imagine getting your own money taken away and then being fired from your job just for being a woman (although I’m sure there are situations like this that occur that just aren’t so blatantly so—in regards to job loss).

I also found the birth day to be disturbing and am also curious if Moira made it away safely after escaping! I’m curious to see where things go with the Commander because I was definitely not expecting that!

So now we get to the Ceremony! This is such a bizarre set up and it’s interesting to see Offred’s whole viewpoint about the situation. And she chose this! It makes you wonder what other options there were that this would be the most favorable to her.

I definitely have to agree with the doctor’s office visit as being chilling. I’m definitely also curious with how things became the way they are now. The narrator makes it clear that it’s only been about 3 years since this all began for her, which makes you wonder how someone can change their ways of thinking in what seems like such a short period of time!

Finally got my hands on a copy of this book, so a little late to the game! I have yet to watch the show, so I'm entering this with little to no knowledge of the major plot points. I thought I might have a little trouble getting into this book, but it took no time at all to get used the flow of the writing. My main thoughts are that things seem a little ominous, and I'm curious to see more into the narrator's perspective on this society. It's interesting to me that she remembers a time before this society formed and it just seems like she is reminiscing quite a bit. It almost seems at times that the narrator is convincing herself that the way things currently are, are for the best. I certainly am looking forward to reading more and getting a better idea of what is going on!
